2017 Non Crows AFL Discussion Thread part 2

Yeah I saw the scores and thought what a great win to WWT. Then I had a look through the line ups and saw what a terrible team Port had. Apart from Aaron Young, not one AFL standard player.

Our reserves team is battling and I worry about our depth (and Port beat us) but at least we have a reason with the injury list.

Says a lot about Port's depth

I dont understand the anger towards the SANFL from Tealsters abiut Summerton having to be dropped as they cant play an AFL listed player in their SANFL Reserves team.

Remember when they used to cry about Sturt, Glenelg etc playing their AFL players in their SANFL Reserves. So they wanted all their players at the one club.

Now they have what they want and they are still crying foul at the SANFL. They wanted the Magpies to be the Port Power Reserves.

If Summerton wants to play league SANFL every week go to a real SANFL club. Not "captain" the Port Power Reserves. The reality is he is just keeping a spot warm for an 18 year old AFL listed draftee


Also full strength no injuries and still can't beat WWT. Shows how many list cloggers and minimal depth they have down there.

Summerton made his bed, he can sleep in it, he knew what he was getting into, so much so he had a good rant on FB how f***ed up it was that Port Power was taking over The Magpies. It's pretty funny.
He had a massive chance to come to Sturt a couple of years ago and play with Beard and Kirkwood but he chose not to. He'd be a Premiership player now if he did. On the flip side Kirkwood left Port when they were whored out, now he's a dual Magarey Medalist and a Premiership winning captain.

What's funny about all of this is the sentimental chest thumping from the knuckledraggers for Summertons 200th last week, one week later and tradition has gone and f***ed itself just like Power f***ed over The Maggies.......what a proud tradition!
Just makes the arguments in front of the Bowls club last week all the more hilarious.

The SANFL clubs and the SANFL should at the end of this year declare the Magpies are dead and that they play as the Power reserves in a jumper that represents the AFL brand. It is an utter insult that non SANFL standard AFL wannabes are able to sing that club song and wear a jumper that some of the best players in league history wore their entire careers. This is why Port are a joke of a club. Nothing is dear to them unless it suits a marketing brand.

Given the eveness of the season, they are a good chance to make a charge.

I wouldn't rule out the Roos either if they can beat the Dees today.

Strange season, but the unpredictability is making it interesting.

They want it both ways. To keep their AFL listed players at one club, but only to help them win a SANFL premiership, which isn't the point of the reserves.
