Reading the Port board has been amusing, in summary:

Hinkley is shit
Dixon is shit
Bonner is shit
Impey is shit
Leaders are shit
Trengove up forward is shit
Skills are shit
Port are shit
Jonas is shit
Gameplan is shit
Voss is shit

Edit: more shit
Are they really bagging Bonner?

Did anyone go to the draft in 2015? The small group of vocal port flogs who were there absolutely errupted when they picked Bonner.

They also broke into a ken Hinkley chant on their way in to the centre. Quite embarassing

Don't understand the issue re Gores free kick against ......quite simple, it was a Free Kick against Gore, that's the rule ......but don't change the rule, as the umpire has the ability under the rules to recall a "short" boundary throw in .....that's what the umpire decision should have been

Actually it wasn't a free. Umps got it wrong, unless they deem Gore being hit in the back by the ball while he wasn't looking as "contesting" the ruck

Rule 15.5 – A field Umpire shall award a Free Kick against a Player where a Player:

a) Who is not a designated Ruck contests a throw up or boundary throw in;

· Players must be designated to the field Umpire prior to the ruck contest.

· Ruck men need to continue to ensure 1 metre separation at all ruck contests.

· In the case of a boundary throw in that the field Umpire deems to be not contestable, the field Umpire will direct the boundary umpire to throw the ball in again.

· If 2 players nominate from the same team at the same time, players will be given one chance to re-nominate, if 2 continue to nominate, the field Umpire will choose one.

· Only the 2 designated ruckmen are to contest the ruck. The ball must hit the ground or be touched by the designated ruckmen before it can be contested by other players.

B Smith was on the radio and said he thought it was a free because the ball touched Gore before it hit the ground which is clearly not what the rule says. The umps are as good at reading rules as Kochie is at reading contracts.

Getting the bus back from Mount Gambier makes no sense.

Especially with Pittards hammy. And surely jumping on a bus half an hour after an AFL game and sitting for five hours is not a great for post match rehab.

They could have easily been back in Adelaide by 9pm via plane.

Surely a club with Cathay Pacific as a sponsor could organise a charter flight if no commercial flight was suitable.

Did Richmond use a bus or did they stay in Mount Gambier overnight?

Not as stupid as our effort last year in the season proper heading towards a season defining game.

They can't be serious? Haven't worked on there game plan under match play? WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did they draw it on the white board?

Surely they could work on their skills and their game plan in match simulation. Bunch of amateurs.

They've still got a couple of months to hone their gameplan in match day scenarios before the one and only game that club cares about this year.

Pretty sure i heard him say they did match play last preseason and skills this season.
Seems like they can only focus on one thing each preseason.

I still laugh when I think about all the insular Port supporters who were acting like they had recruited the next Buddy Franklin.

I had seen enough of him at GC to know that he was going to struggle at Port, he couldn't even make a real impact when he was getting the 2nd best defender playing second fiddle to the far superior Tom Lynch.

There was no way that he was coming to Port as their main forward and was going to dominate. He's injury prone player with a history of off field issues to the point of where the Suns actively moved him on.

They definitely paid massive overs for him.

There was a poster on the port board who said they didn't start match sim until after jan.

Problem is, how many umpires have common sense...

In all seriousness, if you're a port fan with money (I know, unlikely), and can get a bit of time away from work, why wouldn't you? Would be a great experience.

Got three lads from my work going.... I do agree with ya though, if the AFC did something similar would definitely go! Same as when we have interstate games(other then Melbourne) I try and make a weekend of it.

Split the narrow wins and losses 50-50, and we are 32-26 and probably 4 successive finals series.
Reverse the narrow wins and losses, and we are 36-22 and you could add a couple of top 4 finishes.

Wow. They're actually still looking at their problems like this?? Their delusion never ceases to amaze me or entertain me.

I only ever went to Melbourne for the footy (no other reason to want to go there). I now prefer to go watch us play at the GC and stay for four or five days. Sun, fun and a Crows victory.

I will be doing more road trips now. Am planning 1 Melbourne trip in June and Hobart in May.

Might have to put Perth in the schedule over the next 2 years. Just check out flights and tourist stuff. Never done Geelong. Did plan last year but life dramas stopped that idea.

Geelong is ok, if you go Great Ocean Road way! A little cliche but definitely worth doing every few years!
