I know the way it sounds, but the point he makes is valid. The focus on footy in Brisbane, or the lack of, is a world away from life in Adelaide. Players can walk around as nobodies and they never get bothered. Sure, it's different when/if they become a premiership threat and are winning games of footy every week, but until then no-one takes any notice of them.

If you want to be a professional AFL player, then you need to expect some media attention.

Would Gibbs be one of the few on less (although he's probably ahead since he was supposed to have front loaded his Carlton deal, although his average yearly salary may be less than what his average year salary at Carlton was)?
