In all likelihood, it is not relevant. But, as he is a restricted free agent, if Richmond decides to match an RFA offer AND if Martin doesn't want to stay, then I think he could technically go into either draft.

But that would require a monumental list management balls up by Richmond to occur. So not beyond the realms of possibility!

It would be great to add a ready made midfielder into the mix for 2018, with the development of Berry, McLuggage, Mathieson, Keays and co, it would be exciting to get a Luke Parker type and add Christensen and Robinson to our current team. Throw in the best young mid in the country with pick 1 and we are starting to take shape.

Just a thought, does that mean free agents this year who are restricted free agents ( martin and the like) become unrestricted this year considering the new agreement has included this as part of the players pay package, or will this start next year? Surely it will start this year if the increase begins now?

key defender? wouldn't surprise me although it does seem our the club believes our current KPD stocks are a lot stronger than they thought. Skinner is impressing and wouldn't surprise me if he makes debut this season. I heard talk that we could be on the look out for a mature aged KPD at years end but IMO I don't think we need one now.

I'd agree. With McStay re-signing and re-iterating how much he wants to play wherever he can help the team, Skinner looking like a superb prospect and now Ballenden having performed well as a KPD (who knows where he ends up though) I can't help but feel we have the timber to complement Harris and make a very strong defense.

Harrison Himmelberg. Was a bit of discussion earlier in the season about Harrison joining up with his brother at Adelaide.
