Seriously, can anyone see any of the young OOC players coming here?

If Schache leaves, I would really hope we get a top 5 pick for him. But if Schache nominates a club that doesn't have a top 5 pick, it's extremely unlikely we get a top 5 pick, unless a multi team trade can be worked out.
We ask for their 2017 & 2018 first round picks then.

I mentioned Nakia Cockatoo 12 months ago and got shot down by old mate Leemas who said he was happy at Geelong was no chance. Not sure where he gleaned that information from - maybe he horse's mouth? Anyway Nakia grew up in Darwin where his father was a gun player. He would prefer the warmer weather thats for sure. Not sure if he wants to leave but he would be a nice pick up.

Out of interest where does all the Hopper talk originate from? People living in hope because he comes off contract or is there actual talk he might be interested in leaving and heading to another club?
I've heard we are more than a chance for Nakia too. He's gonna be a gun. He would fit in real well up here let's just say very good friends with a few Brisbane people, don't wanna go into too much detail though sorry for being vague.

From what I've heard about cockatoo it all rests on playing time more or less. Looks to have cemented himself into the Cats best 22 so he might stay put one would think. He would have every club wanting him. Cats cap is tight so I guess he would possibly leave if someone dangles a good enough offer in front of him.

Don't Geelong have to bring in a first round pick this year after all of their trading recently? Would be happy to trade Port's first rounder for Nakia

That rule only kicks in in 2019.

Think we are having a decent crack at Parish, something along the lines of 4million/6 years. Not sure how much truth in it although the bloke telling me has no reason to talk rubbish.
I'd be surprised if the club wasn't having a decent crack at all of the young midfielders out of contract e.g. Parish, Hopper, Cockatoo ect.

Interesting to note good old Billy Puller mentioned the Bye deadline before anyone else.

Lol. That makes me laugh. Geelong have traded their future 1st like 3 years in a row already.

To us twice. Which we then ontraded for Plowman, Marchbank, pick 8 and Pickett.

Popped over because Im hearing very good mail from a poster in the know we're into Schache.

Obviously if he's thinking of leaving, we have money to spend in droves. Moreso with Thomas on a reduced contract, Gibbs possibly leaving and so forth.

Hows he travelling? Im hearing not good, but Key talls always take 3-4 years. We'll likely have a top 5 pick to offer. Future 1st is in play as well (we have a F/S in Ben Silvagni coming into play next year so we can afford to trade it out). Those Silvagnis just keep on keeping on.

One of our Irish boys (Byrne) has also been brought up as someone you might have interest in. He's coming off a knee injury but looked bloody good last year before he did it.

That one surprised me TBH. Plays like Tuohy for those of you that havent seen him (which is probably all of you seeing as he would be close to unknown outside of our board). Run, dash, bit of mongrel, lovely kick. Best mates with Cripps (they live together).

Swan might know him from his time down here with us but other than that I have no idea where its coming from.

Swap you Bell for Byrne?

Swap you Bell for Byrne?

Im actually shocked Bell didnt come on. He had his limitations (straight line player) but he also had a knack for kicking goals.

I havent watched many of your games but he needs to be played close to goal.

Byrne is class. Came in last year, was racking up disposals off half back, and looking really good then did his (ACL i think) in a really innocuous contest. Remains to be seen how he comes back from rehab, but I hear he's ticking all the boxes.

Lives with Cripps who's known to be professional with his preparation and im hearing hes ahead of schedule. I dont want to lose him. I see him as a Simpson replacement off half back working with our tall defenders.

You owe us no favors for Docherty though.

Always loved tommy. always had a real crack but his lack of game sense was often alarming. was fairly obvious to all and sundry. assume that it hasn't changed?
He now doesn't have a crack at all. Game sense is still missing. Cannot understand how someone who is 100kgs and can run all day is such a soft ck that struggles to use his massive frame.

That surprises me. He used to charge through contests. No turning circle to speak of, but I never saw him pull out.

Add to that, he seems as though he is playing for the other team as he always seems to hand it to them on a silver platter. Disposal skills are woeful.
