Only because you know it's helpful ;)

For the benefit of the clearly very knowledgeable poster you're arguing with, I do not want to lose Ah Chee.

He came a close second in the Margaery Medal (despite playing semi-regular AFL games) playing as a midfielder resting forward. When brought into the AFL side he was played as a forward and barely saw any midfield time, which effected his numbers. He was BOG for us last weekend in the SANFL grand final - watch the last quarter if you want to see him in full flight. At his best he is potentially Josh Kennedy of the Swans. He won't be as consistently damaging at the contest as Kennedy - but he will kick more goals.

With Priddis and Mitchell gone, Ah Chee definitely fills a need for you guys. I hope he stays with us, though if we land Rocky he is even further down the midfield pecking order.

He'll be a better recruit than Redden, and will cost a lot less.

Brad Ebert as a 21yo with 70+ games was traded for an upgrade of pick 45 to pick 28. Guess what you'll get for Ah Chee?

You can thank Rohde for that one!

Im dissapoint.

Where's the talk about our greatest ever HBFer Sam Butler?
Darling to the midfield?
Lamb chop or cooked five ways puns?
Lack of Darling trade also disapointing...

I believe, and Dark Sharks can correct me if I'm wrong, but the terms were Darling for Cam Ell-Yeo, and that's what we're sticking to.

Yuk. Darky is a valued contributor but CEY is not the answer.

Please. Bursts away from stoppages, follows up his work, strong in the air, dat handball ability. Some very impressive attributes on display in those videos.

Will be nice to lowball Port on this one. :)

How to win the offseason:

Retirees:
M. Priddis
S. Mitchell
S. Butler
D. Petrie (A Rookie)

Delistings:
S. Tunbridge (A Rookie)
F. McInnes (A Rookie)
P. Brophy (B Rookie)
J. Giles

Free Agency:
Pay overs to recruit the following; we have space available, just get them.
T. Rockliff
S. Motlop

Trade:

Currently we have picks 13, 30, 48, 67 & 85 in the national draft. That is insufficient to recruit the talent that is required to build a premiership winning squad. Thus it will need to be improved during the trade period:

trade01.jpg
Due to Richmond's forward press success, players who are capable of tackling inside attacking 50 are in high demand. Cripps, being the league leader in this statistic will never be fetch a higher value than what he does right now. Here he has been traded to Carlton for pick 38 plus an 8 pick downgrade. This places his value equivalent to pick 44-45 which I think is about right.

trade02.jpg
Gold Coast are in need of mature aged players, particularly through the midfield - Masten would be useful for them in this regard. Here we gain a second round pick upgrade in exchange for him and a third round pick. It means the Suns receive him for the equivalent of pick 62.

trade03.jpg
Brisbane are going to recruit academy product Connor Ballendean, the question is what they are going to pay for it. It is likely he will be bid upon by another club between picks 8-20. The problem for the Lions is they have picks 1, 12, 18, 41, 73 and thus will have to use pick 12 or 18 (or both) in order to draft him should a high bid come in from another club. Offering two second round picks in exchange for pick 12 gives them the flexibility to cover all options whilst retaining four picks inside the top 30. We get a first round pick - win-win. For what it's worth picks 24 & 30 combined is equal to pick 10, but pick 12 will do fine.

trade04.jpg
The Bulldogs need a ruckman. Lycett will never achieve his potential in the shadow of Naitanui and could do with a change. Third round pick plus later minor pick downgrades should do it. This classifies him as equivalent to pick 43 in value.

trade05.jpg
Schofield is fourth in line for a key defensive position in the squad and comes from Geelong. Geelong have had a number of key defensive players retire and will be looking for replacements. Third round to second round upgrade should satisfy both parties. This puts his value at pick 60.

trade06.jpg
Lamb looks east and we get an upgrade. St Kilda get a Riewoldt replacement project and keep two first round picks. Places Lamb's worth at pick 49 equivalent.

trade07.jpg
Boom! Gaff looks east as well and we get a major say in this year's draft. Kangaroos retain a first round pick whilst getting an All-Australian. Places Gaff as equal to pick 11 in value.

trade08.jpg
Small upgrade in fourth pick whilst providing Hawthorn a fifth option. Picks 62 & 70 are equal to pick 59 so this isn't far off par.

trade09.jpg
Another trade of lower picks for upgrade. Picks 60 & 61 are equal to pick 50. Pick 89 comes as well only because the Tigers will never use it.

trade10.jpg
Brendon Ah Chee is seeking a move back to WA. This lessens his value such that a third round pick becomes viable for a trade.

These are all simple and fair trades. Now we have two picks in the top 10 and a high second rounder.

Taking the piss surely?

Cripps for chump change doesn't help us.
Brisbane will never trade pick 12 for 24 and 30.
Lycett is worth far more to us than an equivalent pick in the 40s, and if we really wanted to trade him we could get more than that.

We would want a better trade for Lycett than that..Prefer to keep

Dont really want either of Matera or Fasolo, but out of the 2 Fasolo is a far superior player. If Matera didn't have the surname doubt you would even consider it.

Better for Freo where he can add to their endless list of WAFL grade spuds

Here are a few highlights videos of Ah Chee...

He's a good size, strong, quick, evasive, can jump, his handballs probably his best strength, his kicking skill is pretty good but in the end from everything I saw he just struggles with decision making, I think that's why he's quite good at picking up goals, when he gets hold of the ball and his only option is to shoot you see his strengths come out and he's confident and he does some great things. But you can also see he just fails at times to take the best option or hits up the wrong target or reads his teammate incorrectly and it looks like that affects his confidence. With the right coaching and proper encouragement he COULD be a dominate player, but I can't see what his endurance and motovation is like from the videos, if he is strong in those areas he could be good.

I see you to play football manager

Would anyone do this trade?
North get: Gaff & Pick 13
WC get: Pick 4 & Pick 21 & Mountford
Seem you are the godfather, that is an offer North cannot refuse.

Seriously though, north probably wouldn't go for that deal, as good as Gaff is.

Plenty of examples of this working.

Draft isnt the only way to build a list. Look at Sydney and Carlton.
Except for Kennedy at Sydney, show me an example of a team "building" the core of their list (i.e the on-ball division) using fringe players like Ah Chee.

Carlton: Murphy, Cripps, Gibbs all first round draft picks

Sydney: Parker, Hannebery all drafted. Kennedy from Hawthorn is the one in a million scenario.

Richmond: Martin, Cotchin both top 3 picks. Prestia wasn't recycled, he was one of GC's best mids. Could make an argument for Grigg but he's hardly central to their success and had been a spud for a long time.

Hawthorn: Lewis, Mitchell, Hodge all drafted. Burgoyne you could argue for but he was a star beforehand.

Adelaide: Sloane, Crouch, Crouch, Knight, Atkins etc, all drafted.

You can use recycled players to fill gaps around the ground but you can't build a midfield with them. And it's arguable that adding mature B graders into the on ball division robs you of the chance of developing your draftee midfielders appropriately

Nothing wrong with Ah Chee (not better than Redden Thorne you ****ing ham sandwich) if it's for our 4th rounder or higher.

He's been on an AFL list for 6 years, his AFL level games have been fairly average, whether that's him played out of position or not, it doesn't matter. SANFL form is also something you'd take with a grain of salt, Marsden would win the Sandover if he played a whole season. Hutchings could come close as well so what does that tell you?

I'd rather take pick 48 to the draft to use on a Ryan or Kelly than give Ah Chee a 7th season on an AFL list to do something. Anyone who is in his 6th season and instantly gets overtaken by SPP in his first year should come with a serious discount. They clearly don't rate him.

Also add in the fact he's not even contracted and daaaaaamn son, they can have pick 85 :pileofpoop:

Ah Chee talk has me thinking Karpany for Ah Chee is a pretty even deal. Karpany is a half forward not making it as a midfielder and Ah Chee is a midfielder not making it as a half forward. Karpanay and Ah Chee both get to go home!

It's gaining momentum because Waldron said it on SEN. It's a word of mouth rumour.

FWIW, he has a smidgen more credibility than a FB page.

The Gaff to home rumours have been around since we drafted him.

How do you know so much about him, you guys living together or something??

Ah chee had a couple of injury interrupted seasons to start his career and poor endurance . He has since got his running capacity up to a level to play midfield .
He just played a blinder in the Sanfl grand final so at least he is injury free and attack a preseason at a new club with vigor .

About Waldron?

Try googling him, he is the piece of shit that systematically rorted the salary cap that got the Melbourne Storm stripped of several premierships.

I would prefer to keep Karps and give port a shafting for Ah chee

You could probably class Menagola and Barlow as recycled as they were mature agers that had spent time with other lists.
