Seems insane that the Miers bloke can kick 50 goals in 17 games, and be considered a firm 2nd rounder.
The blokes drafted ahead of him must be unreal players...

Edit: The 1st round midfielders are all kicking 2+ goals a game. Some with bags of 6 and 7.
7 goals in TAC =/= what we think 7 goals means
Yep, didn't Steele Sidebottom dine out on his 10 goals for years?

He definitely did not come knocking, and we certainly did not 'bounce' him. Let's shut that down before that idea starts to spread.
What happened? You think he only came here to up his tiger contract? If we would have offered him big $ at the time he would have come

I posted this in 2013 when there was talk he was open to offers...

Sure, his salary will be overs. I don't think that is too concerning if we have the space considering the players we have retiring soon.

The facts are, you're not going to get a quality player from another side without paying overs in salary.

But let's put it in perspective. This year he's averaging 24 disposals and a goal a game. That would make him 4th and 5th at West Coast respectively in those areas. He averages 100.7 in SC which would place him 3rd at West Coast. He's 19th in the league in total bounces, so he breaks lines.

We'd be bringing in a player who'd instantly be one of our best and who's skillset is scarce at the club.

He's 22, played 80+ games, good size, weight and pace.

If only...

Regarding Wilson being surplus to our needs off HBF, I think he could actually play on a wing for us. We need a speedy line breaker there.

The word in the media was that Mini Gov was going to Freo, they were chasing him hard, etc etc, and then when he resigned it turns out he was close to signing with us but then we dropped out and he re-signed with Adelaide.

It seems we hold our cards close to our chest. I'm not too interested in anything Freo have traded in over the last few years/ever, and the only reason Brad Hill chose Freo is to play with his brother and the only reason Wilson is inclined is because he's friends with Bennell and played with Peel.

McCarthy and Kersten are just crabs

Not to the club. They are shit scared of any controversy.

They originally had trouble getting him to training which has been sorted he's had a good year at Subi top goal kicker 70 odd goals I think finished third in the out ridge medal but both last year and this year struggled in the GF not sure if they'd want to chance him with those other problems though

I could be wrong but I'm fairly certain the rumour that Martin was in Perth talking to WC was drummed up on BigFooty and not reported anywhere else. Even accepting that it definitely happened for a moment, I'd be inclined to think it was us making the sales pitch not him.

There is no evidence to suggest he approached us to explore the option of coming to WC and that we rejected him based on his personality.

Whys that DS?
Matera's 2017 was better than anything Fasolo has produced.

And he's much more a crumber than Fasolo too which we need more of.

I really hope we dont get fasolo, plenty of small fowards from crappy draft positions can come in and impact straight away.fasolo is dead average and has other issues on top

I wasn't on big footy in 2013. Both Martin and conca for memory were out of contract. Martin met with a bunch of clubs at the time including west coast. A number of clubs at the time stated that they were not prepared to take Martin on for the money he was demanding. He ended up resigning with Richmond. So yes we definitely could have got him if we paid overs at the time. Not sure we'd still have him on our list though
