For me it comes down to how active we are with other pursuits. If we didn't try to get another 2nd rounder I wouldn't want us to go for him. If we can open that opportunity up then I'd be keen.

And I disagree that it's not a pressing need. We are one of the most static football teams I've ever seen.

Rubbish. If we got him we could push Yeo into the midfield full time (if he's up to it) we could also push others like Duggan into the midfield.

The odds that whoever we get with our second rounder (if that's what it cost) will ever be as good as Wilson are not high

I would do that deal but Geelong wouldn't I don't think. Duncan is a premium A Grade mid. Can't offer Gaff as they can't afford him. I get the feeling though Ablett is going to be on a small salary and Duncan will stay, more likely to offload Menagola than Duncan.

Is Duncan really an A grade premium mid or just the 3rd to 5th best mid at Geelong and has a lot of good players around him?

We should be doing all we can to develop Yeo and Duggan into mids - they have the potential, but our development in this area seems to ... really stink. Happy to give up our 2nd for Wilson, the man has skills.

Aren't all our young hbfers developing mids anyway,in a year or 2 we might not have any hbfers they'll all be full time mids!!

Tough one. 30 wouldn't be enough for Wilson which means we would have to get creative in orchestrating a trade. While Wilson is a good player and I don't love the idea of Fremantle getting him, I think it'd be the wrong direction to point our time and resources. It has to be the midfield.

Without wanting to start a shit fight I was wondering what's going on with you Next Gen Academy? We've been getting a few bits of info over the year and when I've wandered over here for a lurk I haven't seen much discussion about yours.

When it was all announced I had thought without much reasoning that you guys had the better zones. Have I just missed it or have you just not had much info on who your players are yet?
