The word in the media was that Mini Gov was going to Freo, they were chasing him hard, etc etc, and then when he resigned it turns out he was close to signing with us but then we dropped out and he re-signed with Adelaide.

It seems we hold our cards close to our chest. I'm not too interested in anything Freo have traded in over the last few years/ever, and the only reason Brad Hill chose Freo is to play with his brother and the only reason Wilson is inclined is because he's friends with Bennell and played with Peel.

I'll admit I haven't watched a lot of GC this year but who is there depth at small forward???

Jack Martin?? not sure who else I would rate particularly high.

I'm far from a GC expert, but off the top of my head Martin, Ah Chee and Ainsworth would all be ahead of Matera. They also have a heap of mids who rotate through such as Lyons, Hall, Miller and potentially Bowes.

Think this is ridiculous if true. We have a second rounder, they don't, if we want him, go trade for him.

The only person I have heard say Wilson's preferred destination is Freo is Freo's list manager.

Wouldnt it be hilarious if Freo used 5 to land Wilson with something else coming back, use another pick for Matera and in the last days of trade week we snaffle Hogan for 13 plus next year 1st, trade Gaff for pick 8 and a 2018 3rd and trade a 2018 pick to GC for another 2nd rounder.

Couldn't we have both Fas and Matera?
We could use both their skill sets.
Both should be available for late picks or a surplus player.

The Simpson era has changed that a bit.

Mitchell, Petrie, Redden, Jetta - all pretty big names.

Then there has been some deft trading which has landed us Yeo and Cripps.

I don't think we can complain about this anymore.
