To be honest I'd rather see us go to the draft than be super active in the trade period.
AhChee for a 4th

Then a 3 way trade culinary delight of lamb roo pie !
pies get lamb
Roos get 54 ( pies )
wce get montford

Go hard for motlop since we have so much cap space

Use masten and Schofield as trade bait then go to the draft .

So we basically get Lamb, who's played one game in three years and is probably on the verge of being delisted, in a straight swap for Mountford, who played 12 games this year?

Sounds fair and reasonable.

;) Works for me FiveStrings.

Mountford wants out he wants to head home, I heard that from people at Claremont very early in the year.

I think we should be throwing big offers at Melbourne for hogan and trump freo if there is any possibility of him leaving. Offer our first and gaff to get the conversation started and maybe even a second round in next years good, deep draft. I know our midfield is an issue and is a bigger problem at the moment, but i dont want to be like Fremantle where you are trying for years to fill our key position spots. Our defence is shored up for the next 6-8 years with gov and barras and with hogan our forwards could be the same with hogan and darling.
Yes the forward line may be a bit tall for the next couple of years with hogan, kennedy and darling but i reckon darling could play smaller and hogan further up the ground, but having the 3 talls really makes it a must to get that 1 or 2 small crumbing forwards (
Back our current midfield in, as i think blooding a bit of youth in and the retirement of a couple of stars but slower guys will definitely improve.

Lamb would have played 12 games for Norf this year

I don't think lamb was on the verge of being delisted . We have a contract for him but he wants guaranteed game timeb

Maybe but he's still worth more than Lamb.

Gaff will be an RFA. We refuse to trade him this year if no one comes with an appropriate offer. If he is rubbish, as many BF pundits indicate, how high is someone going to go on him? Next year we can match offers and double down on the Mitch Brown...ing of his ass.

Surely our worst case scenario is an end of first round compo next year with the coin he will end up on? Unders but if he plays like he did for most of this year...maybe not.

End of first round next year is like a pick 6 to 8 this year going on comments about next years quality and depth.

Unless Gaff moves interstate and walks out on the club we are in a win win situation. And there is no indication that Gaff and the club are on bad terms, I'd say it would be the exact opposite.

Picks bring absolutely no guarantee - proven players on the other hand....
However, other clubs rejects are just that.
We need to be smarter. Jack Watts I would take for the right price. He is easily better than a second round pick

Good thing about watts coming in would be that Darling and redden would be the two least hated Jacks at the club.

Channel 10 saying Cox as an assistant to Geelong.

That would be a 2nd gone for us, after Longmuire.

EDIT: Yeah, you guys have a whole thread on this. Ain't gonna delete this post though. Gotta keep those post numbers up.

Keep Lycett, straight swap pick 29 for Ah Chee.

Screw Port like they did us with Ebert. If they don't take our scraps then they look like the bad guys in the media (club who cant control its players in off-season refuse to send a good WA boy home. Life of crime imminent).

And if Port send him to the draft then there is a good chance he is still around at pick 29 anyway.
Wayyyyyyyy overs

Nah don't need Darling in there, Gaff by himself should be close maybe a late pick thrown in
Gaff and Darling for Duncan and a seconded round pick that we can send to Collingwood for Fasolo maybe.

Christ..

Duncan is overrated for a start. Gaff would be doing as good as him playing outside Dangerwood.

Also, Gaff is a year younger..

So Ah Chee is uncontracted and the team most likely for him to get game time is WCE . Port have little bargaining power except they can help in getting him where he wants to go rather than into pre season draft . Which was cancelled last year due to lack of uncontracted players desired . Well eagles could offer port a 3rd round pick to be nice or just hold a draft pick for the preseason draft which is held after the normal draft . You wouldnt think port would hold a preseason pick to redraft a player who wants out would you . Because we beat port their pick is before ours . I think I have all this right . I did do some research after all . But I am not all over this drafting stuff like some are .
