They changed their keeper from the first game.

Reminiscent of Zeljko Kalac back in 2006.

Why would you even change keepers unless they're injured in the middle of a tournament?
Didn’t realise not that I wouldn’t of used the bonus bet on it anyway

A lot of teams go alright up the pitch but are just so s**t up forward. Saudi Arabia & Morocco both with decent showings in defence and midfield but absolute garbage going forward

Just about to say the same myself. This is the same feeling I got watching the earlier game. Weaker side doing most of the attacking but just can't score, while the stronger team just happily absorbs the pressure confident they can do enough to win from limited opportunities.

What a *en s**t game. The earlier game was great, the first half especially. Uruguay Saudi was absolutely horrendous.

Kalac understood Croatian didn't he? Wasn't that the reasoning?

From memory Hiddink brought him because of his extra height and reach.

Croatia had some tall targets and good wide men to send crosses in, so he supposedly thought Kalac could handle the crosses better than Schwarzer.

Saudis a disgrace AGAIN. Makes the Asian Conference look about div 1 standard. When we go to 48 teams in 2026, and 6-8 Asian teams, they will probably be there every 4 years.

Yeah, not looking forward to 48 teams.

Should keep it at 32, and have some kind of intercontinental group of death system that gives a few more European and South American sides a chance to qualify ahead of these crappier Asian, North/Central American, and African teams.

Saw the Uruguay game at The Star Casino on the big screen. They are an intriguing side this tournament. Defensively sturdy and clearly have two lethal threats to keep them motoring along. If they hit form, they are a real danger, their lineup is impressive. Still have my doubts about Sanchez, but he has some okay contributions. Russia then (seemingly) Portugal or Spain, so they need to switch on from here on in.

Interesting conflicting reports. Wonder what’s true given I know SFA about Egyptian football or politics.

He also lists this, and from the comments there seems to be Egyptian citizens confirming it is as it is said to be

Geez it gets more and more complex. Every time I read something that provides answers, more questions pop up. Hard to know what to truly believe though.

This is a difficult one to fully comprehend. I do feel for Salah. What a mess it’s become.
