I have just watched the interview with Shaun Hart on our website. I think he is a great asset for our Club...

Agree. Seems like he's just throwing out the 'feel sorry for me' after he didn't put in the required effort. Would love him at the Lions though if he wasn't able to break back into the best 22 and is looking for senior game time... will be a spot there for him.
Nicholls has gone off to the US again like he did last year for 2 weeks - hardly seems conducive to making every post a winner
Looks like we didn't completely clean house of these blokes who love the AFL lifestyle but not wanting to commit to being a professional and doing the extras.
I've already written him off from being on the list next year.

So, here's a question I've never known the answer to — always had a full work day to contend with, but 2018 has me flush with spare time right now. Can we just turn up somewhere and watch the team train? Or do we need to wait for an officially sanctioned 'open' training?
If so, where would I go, and when do they train?
Pre-season training for the players and coaches resumes next week.
Personally, I consider myself to be in the best posting shape of my life. I changed a few things over the break, not reading as much rubbish and sticking to a steady diet of insightful comment and opinion. Looking for more sharpness and wit, fewer turnovers. I can't wait for the preseason comments to start.

Indeed! Sign up early Strop, show Lynchy how its done..Geez, your already one of the best posters on this forum so if your planning on stepping your game up you might be too good to stick around on here![]()

Loyality over free agency will give a big boost for the boys and success will follow..
Dude if we weren't patient we would have jumped off this reverse band wagon at least 3 years ago! There is a spot there for him, now Saad has sooked his way back to the heartland..Greendogg, you still got all your McKenzie Willis stock?
I may have sold off a small portion of my holding based on my lack of patience but hopefully the changing coaching structure and getting re-rookied will set him up for a big year.
God I hope this is our year!
This is the best training footage I've seen in our 8 years.
Great seeing the boys being pushed to their limits with running and sprinting drills them being instantly smashed by the coaches in tackling and wrestling drills

We always get fried with the umpiring so we may as well get fried for hurting the opposition rather than just being in the wrong place at the wrong time.I assume the tackling and grappling is designed to build resilience as well as technique, it will be interesting to see if the guys translate it to game time. I think the protection of the player with the ball for a split second allows improved disposal which is something we have always struggled with.
You know I think Eade gets a lot of unfair criticism on here (not saying from you, OB).. I think Stuey is absolutely the right appointment with Ablett gone and the ratpack gone he can go about making this team His and building from the ground up with a very talented (bit young) but very talented list..Eade is the Coach we had to have in the post McKenna years.. he was the hard nosed experienced guy who cleaned up the joint.. as far as I'm concerned he threw himself on the railway track for the good of the club... getting rid of all the behaviourally challenged stars to the detriment of the bottom line (his win/loss record) add to that the monumental injury list we had while he was here and its not hard too see he was up against it..You just wonder what 'our' year needs to look like - I imagine the bar will be pretty low but an improvement on what we dished up in the Eade years

The tackling technique throughout is terrible, the technique by Jack Martin at the 5min45s mark makes me want to weep.
Our inability to effectively tackle other than Lemmens and Swallow is my biggest frustration and now I see why. They don’t know the basic technique of lowering the shoulder and driving the legs.
They should go and get someone like a Trevor Gilmeister or Ryan Simpkins (both GC locals) to do just a one hour session with them and it would be fixed.
If they are bringing in guys to show grappling technique I'd assume they already would be bringing in guys to show tackling technique given that is an actual a skill of the game.
Although based on exposed form maybe they should be bringing in new guys to show tackling technique.
