Your sentiment is right on TDK but it will take a bit longer than you think for him to hold down the ruck for half a season or a full season.

Still, i think what you are saying is risk it with what we have already.

I'd be working on 2020 for DeKoning to be number one ruck. 2021 at the latest. Kreuzer and Lobbe only have to hold out until then. I don't think he's a long term prospect.

Our ruck issue is Phillips not being able to stay fit and create adequate backup. I'd be considering perhaps a free agent or using a 4th rounder to replace him.

If GWS are under as much salary cap pressure as they say they are, we should be picking up discussions with Mr J Kelly where we left off with them last year, and try getting him to ask for a trade. Allow Mr Shiel to serve his contract, and take him for free next year.

Also trade pick 1 for Adelaide’s 7(8) 12(13) and McGovern which gives us McGovern for around 300 points and gives us 2 first round picks.

Effectively go to the draft with pick 4,8,13 and have a Mitch McGovern.

Their issue, for a long time, has been that they have a team full of OK players with no match-winners.

If we get McGovern, our forward line is just about complete. Just need 2 small pressure forwards.

I feel like aside from midfield depth our number one priority needs to be a small forward that can lay genuine pressure. Polson and Pickett are trying hard but there needs to be competition for spots down there. Right now they're both gifted games because we have no options.

Re: St Kilda - no chance. Pick 3 or 4 or 5 gets you a star in this draft. Something they lack.
