Hmm putting 2 and 2 together and getting 39 maybe explains this. From SEEK. ASADA going to blitz the AFL early and try and embarrass them early?

The Organisation
The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) is in the process of hiring a number of Casual Doping Control Officers in various locations around the country including Adelaide.

ASADA is the Australian Government body responsible for protecting the health of athletes and the integrity of Australian sport through engagement, deterrence, detection and enforcement activities aimed at minimising the risk of doping. As a representative of ASADA you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing its reputation and relationship with athletes and sports officials.

The Role
As a Casual Doping Control Officer (DCO) you will play a key role throughout the sample collection process. The DCO is the person who is responsible for the organisation, conduct and management of the Doping Control Sessions. As such this role involves irregular work patterns and varied work locations. This role should be viewed as providing a supplementary source of income rather than a regular source of income.

DCO’s work alongside ASADA Doping Control chaperones. DCOs and Chaperones work as a team to conduct sample collection sessions in strict accordance with the relevant procedures so all athletes are treated in a fair and equitable manner.

The Person
An interest in sports is not a requirement of this role, however it is imperative that you are mature, confident and present yourself in a professional manner, have strong attention to detail, an ability to follow strict processes and an ability to work flexibly as part of a team.

The fact that the DCO work schedules are irregular in nature means successful applicants must have a high level of availability (especially during the day). Therefore, this role is particularly suited to medical professionals (aged care workers, nurses, pathology technicians, pharmacy assistants etc), emergency service professionals, shift workers, regulatory enforcement employees and retirees.

You will need to demonstrate a fair level of fitness and an ability to work outside of normal working hours. Please note:

Skills and attributes required;
• You must be an Australian Citizen.
• A positive attitude and reliability.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
• Mature, confident and professional manner.
• An ability to diligently follow processes.
• Drivers license and access to a fully registered and insured vehicle.
• A minimum of 18 years of age.

Applicants must pass a National Police Check and have the ability to obtain a Federal Government security clearance at the Baseline level. You must also have the ability to obtain and maintain relevant Working with Children Checks in accordance with State requirements.

Apply to this role using the Apply Now buttons. You will be sent an email with further information on the role as well as an official application form to complete. Applications closes 25th March 2018

Should you wish to know more about the position, please email

You've got to love the "Casual Doping Officer". It looks like systematic doping is OK. ;)

At least you mentioned these 3 upgrades as apposed to all the other Crow posters mentioning only the Aboriginal Center accompanied by backward racist comments, but then you all conveniently ignore the rest of the announcement:

• A world-class multi-purpose training and sports science precinct, including:
• A new high performance centre
• Development of a secondary training and rehabilitation field
Upgrades to the Fos Williams Family Stand.
• A new swimming pool,
• A new gymnasium which will be available to the local community
• A function centre which will also be available to the local community
Spectator amenities at the ground to be upgraded.
A new Port Club containing a visitor centre and museum
• Construction of an Aboriginal Centre of Excellence
• Development of a Premiership Walk at the entry to the oval and facilities

But hey, let's all ignore facts and continue on with the delusional hatred!

When does construction start?

Perhaps Ollie will go to the Demons

Only 232 days to go

Why hasn't Ollie signed?

Tend to agree.

Maybe when Aussie Rules is more popular in our country's biggest city we can expect to seriously expand it.

It is like expecting us Aussies to embrace European Handball. Which is a far bigger sport globally than Aussie Rules.

I hope the extent of our trip to India is just as a trial match funded by the AFL. We only need to look to our neighbours and their struggle to fulfill the sponsorship requirements, despite the hyperbole about corporate support in China, as to what a waste such a push is on a club's resources.

I remember it ending up at about 21 million.

You might be able to work it out using this article...

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2008-04-08/16m-facility-upgrade-for-crows

I remember both local AFL clubs having similar funds promised to them leading into the federal election (2007?)

"In really simple terms it's designed to bring fans inside our environment to see what we do, to be a part of it, to see what the players do and to work alongside of them in some cases," Trigg on the facility back in 2008, unfortunate that it hasn’t really happened.

He's starting to get on the nerves of a lot of supporters, with his FIGJAM approach ......he should be counselled to tone it down ....that's not exposure i'm talking about, just the type of exposure

And... what the **** is he wearing?

I get the feeling the documents should definitely be made public
There won't be anything on them... that's the point. It'll just have the players name and date of test. There were 20 players tested. Not one of them put down any substances taken in the past week. Can't see why it's a big deal?

Ah gota love the AFL. They want ASADA to share their documents........because the AFL are as transparent as a 1 meter thick cement wall.

ASADA actually did their job while the AFL made decision based on self interest rather than the evidence and their total failure to apply rules they signed up to with ASADA.
The AFL has show they are totally incompetent in governing and adjudicating these types of issues within its code......they couldn't even make a decision on Jobes Brownlow.....weak as piss.

We heard Ben McDevitt lay the evidence on the line, If the AFL have any balls why don't they publicly respond to that evidence.

The AFL still trying to justify their incompetence.....must be taking tutoring from Essendon and James Hird.

Gilligan, when talking about his senior managers and sexual harrassment:

"The AFL that I want to lead is a professional organisation based on integrity, respect, care for each other and responsibility," McLachlan said."

Does anyone remember how much our new West Lakes training facility cost us to build and also how much we paid vs government funding?
Cheers

PORT Adelaide will get $2.5 million from the Federal Government to extend its Allan Scott Power Headquarters at Alberton Oval.

The Crows will also receive a $2.5 million grant from Canberra to redevelop the club's base at AAMI Stadium, with both clubs aiming to improve "community access" to their facilities.

But there will be no money from Canberra to directly upgrade AAMI Stadium.

The Federal Government rejected the SANFL's submission - made to the Prime Minister's office in April - for federal funds to contribute to the $70 million refurbishment of AAMI Stadium.

Finance and Administration Minister Nick Minchin announced the grants to the Power and Crows - and knockback to the SANFL - at Alberton Oval today.

It was met with dismay by the SANFL. "It is great news for the two AFL clubs (but) bitterly disappointing news for the one million South Australians who annually go to AAMI Stadium," said the league's chief executive, Leigh Whicker.

---

I remember at the time thinking we had spent quite a bit of our own money to get an advantage on the competition only to have everyone else get new "shared community" facilities in partnership with governments/councils over the next few years anyway.

Good on him. It is a waste of time I’m disappointed we want to play in India.
Hope Fagan can tell supporters the rationale behind the India interest ?

I can't believe Port are getting an extra ground with the dimensions of the MCG to help them win premierships.

I don't agree with the other stuff but whatever, they are a poor club, but to get a ground free of charge from the gov to help them win premierships is disgraceful!
