Isee in the paper the Eagles are trying to entice Tim English from the Dogs - this kid is 21 and will be the best ruck in the AFL in a couple years.

He notched 51 hit outs among 21 disposals and 128 ranking points against Williamstown before collecting a further 49 hit outs and 15 touches against North Melbourne on the weekend.

English has played nine career games but is seen as a long-term prospect, hence why the Dogs extended his contract until the end of 2020 last April.

Wouldn't he be good at the Saints - but he is a Perth boy and most probably end up in the west.
WCE are in a stareing contest with lycett ... they know with NicNat gone for another year and the fact hes getting to the pointy end of his career they are in need for a ruck desperatly Lycett is their preferance but they cant afford to pay overs for him so while Lycett is gaining interest all over pushing up his value , WCE are openly looking at options to make Lycett consider the game he is playing ... its and old fashioned test to see who blinks first ...
FFS WCE have even been mentioned at having interest in Sandilands

i dunno if going to Freo helps Blake at all ... Ross Lyon wouldnt play him in the middle either...
Guys like Acres should be give a run of games playing in the middle to give him a chance to show his best - not moving him to fill gaps all the time.
Same goes with Hunter and Coffield next year.

You must give them time to adapt - Acres is the right age now and has the ability - would love a good midfield coach to help him out - Mitchell , Haynes or Harvey

gringo2011 in response to you, this was pretty much my reasoning.

I'm Blakes biggest fan, have been since a long way before we recruited him.

But I'm getting sick of seeing him being played out of position, for whatever reason, the coach can't get the best out of him. I want to see him succeed in a Saints jumper but I honestly am not sure it will happen whilst Richo is around.

If I'm getting frustrated and looking for better opportunities for him as a supporter, no doubt he would be too.

So if he did mention that he wanted out, then a deal involving Cerra is the best outcome for us.
I think when we drafted him and watched his clips we all thought we had a super star on our hands , yes he has had a few injuries along the way but he reminds me of a girl I took out a few times when I was young

Pierce is only 23 and could be a player but lets see how he goes in the last 2 before we declare him our next ruck
I agree. Poster was saying that Lycett better get used to playing second fiddle to Pierce. I’m saying it’s not a given. Have seen very little of Pierce whilst Lycett has st least played some AFL.

I like Hickey, he's a good bloke but I'm not crying if he goes.

Billings, Steele, Ross, Membrey, Webster, Carlisle, Gresham, Acres, Robbo, Stuv are in my cry list.

Well-up but not remember 3 weeks after they were gone would be Dunny, Savage, Bruce, Armo, Clarke, Coffield, Long, Battle, lonie, Rice, White.

Shocked but not devastated would be Hickey, Goddard, Mc cartin, Phillips, Mc Kenzie, Clavarino, Austin, Paton.

All ready processed and moved on are Mav, Minch, Wright, Longer.
You’re putting last year’s 7 and 8 in the “forget in three weeks” basket. You’re a hard man, Gringo. ( Some would say foolish;))

i dont think it will happen this year.. talking to Blake the other week he said he is over his injury but because of the nature of the injury during that time off he was unable to kick or run at great pace for the entrie time so the base fitness level has dropped off , he is working on getting it back up but at the same time he is being held back as to not re-injure it.. i reckon he will play ot the year but they will manage how much they ask of him to do ...

HS reporting Gaff staying at WC or going to North
If Gaff stays at west coast he is a fool and glad we don't get him - anyone knocking back 1.2 to a million a year is crazy / over 5 years that extra million and a half would set him up for life with his wife = comes a time when you have to think about your family and the future.

if he has a bad year or gets hurt they will offload the guy as quick as they can - all's good when his is starring

Hopefully WC load him up and stuff their SC in the process.
