Over the course of the bye rounds, SEN will be breaking down Top 10s in various categories so far in the 2018 season.

Today, we’ll be listing the Top 10 players who may be looking for greater opportunities at a new club next season.

1. Dom Tyson (MELB)

The former top three draft pick has slowly found himself out of favour at the Demons this year. He started the season in the VFL and has been left out of the team at various stages. He’s a clearance winner who's seemingly been passed by some of Melbourne’s other midfielders and teams will be lining up to get their hands on him, despite his kicking limitations. He’s contracted to the end of 2019 and this gives the Demons a bit of power in the trade debate.

2. Anthony Miles (RIC)

Miles is far too good for the VFL, but has only managed one game this season because of Richmond’s depth through the middle. It took Dustin Martin needing a rest for him to even get a chance. Former Richmond coach Terry Wallace believes teams missed a chance to get him last year.It’s likely he’ll be more actively pursued this off-season.

3. Cam Ellis-Yolmen (ADE)

Ellis-Yolmen has had a fantastic 2018 and has taken full advantage of injuries to Brad Crouch, Matt Crouch, Rory Sloane, Sam Gibson and others to show what he can do. The issue is, when everyone’s fit, he’ll be pushed down the depth chart. He too is a strong, big-bodied midfielder who would fit in perfectly at any side requiring strength through the middle. He’s out of contract and would have plenty of suitors given his season to date. The question for the Crows will be whether they let him walk while his value is high.

4. Mitch Wallis (WB)

Wallis is clearly not in the Western Bulldogs’ plans and with a few teams begging for contested midfield depth, it’s likely Wallis will have a new home in 2018. Teams like Essendon, Carlton and Gold Coast (if he wishes to go interstate) could benefit from a bigger body and while Wallis isn’t the most naturally gifted footballer, his hard-nosed talents could be better used away from the Whitten Oval in 2019 and beyond.

5. Jarrad McVeigh (SYD)

Sydney coach John Longmire revealed to SEN’s Crunch Time that McVeigh plans to retire at the end of the season. The more likely scenario is Sydney wish to move on from the veteran because of their pool of burgeoning talent in that area but McVeigh has played great footy in 2018 and likely still has gas in the tank.Essendon has emerged as a team interested and he could be used in a similar role to James Kelly last year.

6. Cam Guthrie (GEE)

Guthrie wants to remain at Geelong, but you'd have to think there are better situations for him elsewhere. The Cats have built a formidable midfield and have to use Guthrie in other roles because of it. The 25-year-old will likely get more permanent midfield opportunities at a side like Carlton or Essendon. He's a very versatile player and this just adds to his value.

7. Shai Bolton (RIC)

Bolton has put off contract talks until the end of the season which likely means he's weighing up a future away from Punt Road. Richmond has a plethora of speedy small forwards who can run through the midfield and he could get more chances back home in Western Australia. With the Hill brothers struggling to get on the field and a commitment to a rebuild over at Fremantle, Bolton could fit in well there.

8. Brayden Fiorini (GCS)

Fiorini has shown flashes of brilliance in his time with the Suns, but hasn't quite taken the next step. A few injuries have robbed him of continuity and while he’ll get plenty of opportunities at Gold Coast, a move to a better team could accelerate the former first round draft pick’s growth as a quality young midfielder. A team like Hawthorn or North Melbourne would be perfect fits.

9. Nick Graham (CAR)

The 23-year-old Graham hasn’t been the recipient of great opportunities at Carlton which is odd given their lack of midfield depth. Notably, he was dropped after a 28-disposal game against Melbourne where many had him in Carlton’s best few players. A fresh start at a club needing ball-winning midfielders like Essendon or North Melbourne could give his career a kick-start.

10. Tom Lynch (ADE)

Lynch sits at the bottom of this list simply because he isn’t underutilised at the Crows, but could become more of a focal point elsewhere. With Adelaide’s depth of forwards, Lynch could get more of the ball returning to Victoria and AFL Nation expert Kane Cornes believes Lynch leaving could be mutually beneficial.

All I'll say really is it's mid-June. Teams size up their options. Most of that article rings true, panic stations only if it gets to early October and no signature.

I'm confident if the club want it done, it will happen, unless the offer from elsewhere is much better.

Yes, if we miss out of Gaff and Gaff chooses Melbourne. Our 1st round pick would facilitate a smoother transition with Melbourne/West Coast and Tyson also frees up coin for them to put on Gaff. However, their 2019 1st round pick comes back to us so we can use it on Kelly next season.

8. Brayden Fiorini (GCS)

Possibly, if we don't get much other action, but only for a 1st round downgrade with equalish points returning to us. Pick 9-12--> GC, Fiorini, 29, 40, 43 --> North

If we can't snag Gaff or someone better, then I would fork over pick 9-12 --> Adelaide for Lynch + 37 + 70 --> North

Miles as I have mentioned before as one of those caught between vfl and afl level. Too good for vfl but average at afl. GC could do with him.

He's only good for head high free kicks.

I’ve said earlier in this thread a downgrade of our first to the WC first which GC have would be good for Fiorini.

If we had a kid that’s done what he’s done early in his career we’d be all talking him up.
