Prediction 2018 trade hypothetical thread

Have you seen Aaron Hall play or you just don't rate him? He is worth a 1st rounder, early 2nd rounder at the very worst. A gun.

To be a little more transparent i was alluding to how will North get TT and Bailey Scott, and get the other trades happening? A lot of North supporters were vocal about not getting Blakely but looking at it now, in all likelihood they probably wouldn't have enough draft picks/points to pick up all academy/FS selections (TT, Scott & Blakey) anyway - (providing there were 1st round bids for all players by opposition clubs).
I think your in the minority rating Hall as a 1st round pick. Your the first person I’ve heard to rate him that high.
+ He hasn’t produced any good footy this season despite only the 6 games. He’ll be 28 next season and doesn’t have a defensive game.

Easiest deficiency to correct for an athlete.
I disagree in regards to elite levels. I agree in regards to suburban athletes.

The effort levels for the average person can increase by say 50% and you'll see a 40% increase in output fairly easily, knocking significant time off your 5km etc.
Elite athletes are a totally different prospect, that's when it turns mental. It's why I think the beep test, or shuttle run or yo-yo test and 2km/3km time trials are great chances to show your character more so than your athleticism. You have to be able to push through and you've had to do it consistently over a significant period.

At 28, I think what you see is what you get.

Fair point, i didn't realise he was that old?

Your not wrong on his defensive game I still think his best is very very good

We aren’t after the kings

I think you should flip May to Melbourne for pick 5 (Hogan pick) and then take the 3 SA kids with your picks. I think you have a clear run at them. Carlton will take a midfielder and StKilda want King. Your only worry is StKilda needing more picks this year and trading out to get them.

We’d take two and then Bailey Smith

Neale > 5 & 34 (Bris)
5 > 8 & 21 (Ade)
6 & 34 > 10 & 11 (Port)
8 & 10 > Hogan & 2019 Second (Melb)
21 > Lobb (GWS)

Out: Neale, Pick 6
In: Hogan, Lobb, 11, 2019 Second

For Adelaide Crow fans

Pick 9 and Future 3rd rounder (2019) - Essendon

for

Pick 17 and Pick 22 (After Blakey) ?

Or is it pointless.

We could essentially offer those picks 17 and 22 to GWS for Shiel.

Whilst 8 and 9 puts you in the picture for Rozee and Hately and also has you the 2 picks before rivals Port Adelaide with 10 and 11 whod jump at a Rozee or Hately if still available whereas you could couple them up together by having these picks.

No way could I see GWS agreeing to those picks.

In that trade Port are offering more than Adelaide so I’d have thought get the higher pick.

Freo could go one step further:
Freo -> 12 + 22
Geelong -> 8 + 20
WCE-> Kelly

Freo -> Hogan
Melbourne-> 10 + 12

Gives them an extra pick in this draft

No way could I see GWS agreeing to those picks.

It may well end up being

Pick 22 and 2019 first

or pick 17 and 2019 First

but we all know where Dodoro would start the offer at.

Theu want 2 first rounders well here they are a 1st rounder and the 1st pick of the 2nd round in what seems like a quality draft

Edit: and for me id be happy to give away pick 17 and 2019 First.

Essentially the equivilant of Pick 2 + some (If we finished 12th next year) or Pick 4 (If we were to somehow win the flag)

Carlton 2019 first rounder for tom Scully setterfield

Scully is 27 yrs old and Setterfield was seriously injured, has played 2 AFL games only, Ahern after same injury a former pick 7 was traded to North for pick 69.
No way are the two players mentioned worth a top 5 pick 2019, there are some super midfielders in the next years top 10 strong draft again.

ADEL to STK: 13, 16 & 21
STK to ADEL: 4

Gets ADEL back ahead of PA.
Gives STK ammunition to get Hannebery.

Also means only 3 VIC clubs have picks in Top 12... (assumed ESS 9 to GWS for Shiel, and BRIS 5 to FREO for Neale).
IF interstate clubs pick local boys (GCS (King(s), ADEL and PA) that still leaves some very good talent that could be there at 13.
