So I got the Nab league app to work and watched 3 games of Sam Philp vision which shows every touch he had.

He's got high intensity and you can see he's the quickest player on the field but his disposal is very rushed and lacks composure even with his handpasses after he's found some space.

Maybe with training he can slow his mind and make better decisions but I'm not sure I'd be taking the risk at our first pick.

Him and his whole family are MASSIVE Tiger fans.

Trade 38 &39 to Fremantle for 23

Go to the draft with 13, 23 & 56 and elevate Stack and Baker
3 picks for the Rookie draft.

you could only do that in a live draft scenario.

I don't see anything specifically that sticks out unless it is a slider which is why I think RFC better off getting more picks in the twenties and thirties and see who we can land or even trade up for a slider from there

its possibile hawthorn have a bottom 6 type season so it may still be a nice draft pick to own.

What I've heard/read is that it's a fairly ordinary draft (meaning about average), but with a huge number of players aligned to a club. So the bidding will be the big thing.

We've got a KPB that's pretty good. Depending where they reckon the bid on him will come we should trade or hold our draft pick. A lot of clubs will be trading down, for points. But I would think a lot will be trading up to a pick before where they expect their kid to go. Could be an action packed trading period. Lots of moving parts if the predications are right.

Rantalls tape is impressive in the Nab league app. Very clean with his disposal and is always on the move. Reminded me a bit of Dan Hannebery when he was good. I wonder how much upside there is considering he was mainly focused on basketball until this year.

Like that he is a balanced midfielder who can run and carry but also win his own footy. Had 299 disposals in NAB league with 135 contested possessions and averaged 6.5 tackles a game.

After watching a whole minute and 27 seconds, Elijah Taylor looks a nice type. Very skilled and balanced and a good size at 188cm. Plays forward but looks like he could play back as well (as is the Richmond way). Add another indigenous lad into the mix.

That's why, as much as these hypotheticals are fun to deduce, they all seem rather pointless with so many variables now, and especially on draft day. Clubs trade for opportunity and the old WIFM law still applies (with some extra mayonnaise required).

The base line for that Bulldogs one has to be, do they have as their first required player, a player in mind that is so likely to be left alone or ignored until well after their next pick. Doesn;t happen often. We have situations with father sons and Academy picks(?) where some additional value can be scrounged up I guess. It's fascinating but largely unpredictable now.

Yes, he is deceptive, plays really well small, but can leap, straight up mark, tackle, does the team things well too. Proved hard to man up on. If he was anywhere near our bunch of 2nd rounders would be mad not to take him, just not sure he'll till be there then though.

Well we've got a KPD. But top end we haven't got anything.

The number of aligned players next year means that teams will be trading up and down. We might well be able to strike a good bargain in pick trades. It'll be interesting to see how it pans out. We haven't ever had a year that was dramatically compromised by aligned players.

Wonder whether Hawks are chasing two early picks (already having 11) or perhaps want to package two early picks to get a better than 1st round 11 with something back? These later end picks are good sandwiched up for Academy or FS picks like Maginness - it's a great way to get value if you can "predict" where a bid might come. Collusion easy to accuse but hard to prove!

I reckon 'compromised' draft is a bit excessive. Yes, there'll be a lot of bids for NGA, Academy and F/S, but they all seem to be a bit further back. I think those teams that preserve their picks could have a huge advantage.

It could, (empahisis on could) be argued the Pick 30 this year was traded for Pick 30 next year if North finish 6th next year (subject to shifting sands). Their Coach, Management and fans would be thinking that (probably no on else and especially not Hawthorn). If North finish say 12th (where I reckon) that's Hawks giving up 30 and getting 24 next year (bar shifting sands) and get 50 and 73 to use for Maginness this year (plus other bits and pieces like 54 and 63 if required, even 42 if push comes to shove). Unless North have identified a must have with that 30 that say Pick 24 to 30 could not possible do next year (plus lose 50 and 73 (meh)), I'm a bit puzzled by it tbh. What am I missing? EDIT ADD (Nits have pick 26,27 and now 30, plus 47. Maybe they figured - **** it we won't need 50 and 73 anyway and we're in a bidding war with another Club for 30 - could it be that basic?)

Yeah I'm not too sure, just gut feel is thinking that hawks will win the trade. Interesting to see what the kangas do with those picks now with only taking 4 in the draft.

On a seperate note, seems as though C.Stephens is sliding and media not linking him to us. If Norf pick him I'll be pissed.

I wouldn’t be disappointed with Rantall at 19. 25 touches and 7 tackles a game suggest he can both find the footy and get his hands dirty. Not to mention his athletic profile from the combine
