I thought we might have kept Dyl. As a good clubman/personality he has been valuable, and after losing Dawson this off-season and probably Tommo too that's a fair clearout of those who make a club fun. I was absolutely gobsmacked when we picked him up, but he's certainly had his (off-field) value.

Thanks Dyl and all the best for the future.

I know David King is often bat-s#*t crazy - but is this his most battiest-s#*tiest cray-cray yet?

Seriously. We should trade the Coleman Medalist to Essendon for a couple of picks.

I can really sea the club seriously considering this.

Oh wait.... NO I CAN’T

The dual North Melbourne premiership player told Fox Footy’s Trading Day Essendon would be well placed to land Cameron should they trade out Daniher, as well as Orazio Fantasia, who has been linked to Port Adelaide.

The Bombers could hand the Giants a suite of six picks — a deal that could prick their interest a year before Cameron becomes a restricted free agent, and has more bargaining power.

Geelong has shown an interest in the GWS superstar, but King believes Essendon could assemble an irresistible deal the Giants would be folly not to consider.

“You’d probably get a second rounder for Orazio Fantasia,” King explained.

“You’d probably get a first and second rounder from Sydney for Joey this year. That gives you three selections into your footy club.

“And if it were me — and this is the kicker — I wouldn’t be waiting on a Jeremy Cameron-type. I mean there aren’t many Jeremy Camerons around, but he’s a free agent at the end of next year.”

King’s hypothetical would rely on Essendon trading Daniher to Sydney in exchange for Pick 5 and 25, and Essendon trading Orazio Fantasia to Port Adelaide in exchange for Pick 29.

Those three picks, along with Essendon’s Pick 31 and 37 and a future first-round pick would be packaged up and presented to the Giants as bait to land Cameron.

“At least give them an offer that makes them think, ‘Hang on, this is six picks’,” King said.

“Put something in front of them that makes them think, ‘Hang on, can we afford to go full length on Jeremy Cameron and be disappointed and get one pick or maybe two?’

I can't see where he says we should trade Cameron. I can see where he says Essendon should make the offer, but the closest he says is "give them an offer that makes them think". That's miles off "GWS should/would accept the offer".

They've also traded out early picks for a few years now. I'm not sure they can trade out another 2. But articles sell papers/Fox and radio need something to talk about with no footy on.

Hearing Mayne for a mid. We could use a bit of Mayney’s grit.

Collingwood want a first round pick. They've approached a few clubs already, us having two firsts, we were probably top of their list.

If they are offering Mayne it would have to be some deal like them paying his contract, not sure how many years he has left but I think they would need to sweeten the deal a bit more.

Talk of Mayne is crazy IMHO. Would bring nothing to the team. We showed this year that the young mids can stand up if the senior mids fall over. If we need anything for the midfield/forward line, it's pace - and Mayne doesn't bring that. Hopefully it's the isual speculation without any real basis.
No one with any credibility said this was a possibility did they?
