Imagine if they win a Final or two in the last year of his contract.

Really hope that happens.

In the third, just before Collingwood kickled away, I thought what an interesting game this would be, if the umpires paid all those textbook holding the balls against Collingwood. I had seen about 5, all at critical points, not paid.

I had to put my glasses on, thought I was watcjing us and how we get tret in Victoria.

Seemed to be one neutral umpire, one shit umpire and one who had bet on Collingwood.

We got jumped in 2017 by North away, like they did last nite. I do think port are a better football side than Collingwood. So I think in finals, they can beat them.

Yeah that's it. Port were robbed by the umpires. Totally.

I've noticed that Wines and Rockliff seem to struggle when they're playing together in the same side.

Rockliff was in scintillating form early in the season, but once Wines returned he's gone back to being largely ineffective. Both players are pretty much carbon copies of each other, both are inside accumulators that are very one dimensional and can only perform at a top level playing when they're playing on the ball.

I'd actually question whether Port can continue to play both players in the same side.

Back when Port recruited Rockliff I was curious as to whether Port had once again thrown money at a name rather than a need. Now that we're 18 months down the track I think we have our answer that Port threw money at Rockliff for the publicity rather than him fulfilling a need.

Sound like someone the Crows picked up ?

Lol.

Port got a reality check. Collingwood by far the better team. And were in cruise control after the first quarter.

But the first paragraph in the Ragtiser is

"Port Adelaide was given a Friday night lesson by Collingwood but can be consoled that flags aren't made in May"

Hmmm, flags are won not made and they aren't in February, March or April either.

Port are overrated - have beaten the 15th, 17th and 18th sides. Against both Melbourne and Carlton they weren't dominating, lost to a Richmond side (who they play again in Melbourne) without Reiwoldt, Rance, Cotchin and Martin and were at home where Richmond have historically performed poorly. West Coast was a good win however their form line is patchy and for some odd reason Port play well against the Eagles in Perth (and vice versa).

Currently 4-3 after 7 games and I don't think they can win 12/13 games. The young players will tire towards the back end of the season and we ensure that they don't play finals by winning both Showdowns.

So out of the three small forwards playing sanfl - stengle, mcadam and jenkins - who comes in first?
Stengle in form and is starting to chase and tackle, McAdam looked super dangerous last night and got his 3 goals..... JJ couldn't catch a cold.

Collingwood are fast starters. Port got caught out, thier young players more so. Its what happens in the modern game, happens to us.

There was a period in the third quarter, Collingwood were close to breaking. If port had leaked no more than five in the first, game would of been different.

Don't forget, thier 3 best forwards and two best defenders did not play.

Anyone on here listen to abc grandstand last night for the coverage? Malthouse calling out hinkleys incredibly bad coaching. Was excellent listening.

Ken Hinkley reminds me a bit of Brad Scott.

They'll never win a premiership, but have been able to do enough to keep their side competitive enough to avoid the axe.

Hopefully Malthouse stops calling him out because I want Ken and Brad to continue past their current contracts.

Collingwood weren't missing any good players?

I agree on most of this but they arent over rated (just yet) . I like their kids and do agree its going to be a shock to the system after about round 13-14.

As to their board and the comments, not much different to this one. Lets wait and see how we go against Freo before we declare ourselves May Premiers

Who’s declaring us May premiers?

The importance of winning our next two games is vital to our September chances as it sets us up for our next 6 games. Those first three games after the Showdown are all winnable but tough. After that we face, Giants, Tigers and Cats. I can see us being 1-2 or 0-3 from those three games.

After our next two game we have:

Lions A
Eagles H
Dees A
Giants H
Tigers H
Cats A

Then the next Showdown.
