If you need to turn some quick cash, i would use Grundy or Macrae instead. Dont need to start with both. But def keep Neale

Will Kelly play mostly mid? Do you think he is a top 6 forward? Legitimate gun, worried about 2nd year blues/an unwillingness to be there

Yeah he definitely will be playing mostly mid. He'll drift down forward for a goal or two, but he'll be in the guts with Danger, Parfitt, Duncan etc.

Wouldn't be too stressed about either of those things. It's his wife that really had the problem, he was fine to stay/loved the club and the players. He's been welcomed back with open arms and all reports are that he's training well and hitting every session with good intensity.

We've had this discussion a fair few times on the Geelong board, and my argument always is, is that if he wants to go to West Coast and get that same paycheck they were offering, then he'll have to perform his ass off. Now that they've retained Gaff, he's not a necessity but rather, a luxury for them now. He'll know that, so he'll want to have a blinder of a season if he still wants the Eagles to take him.

Yep agree with this. Became a luxury for us once we retained Gaff. Best thing for him and both Geelong and Eagles is that he plays a great season. Outcome would then be that Geelong get something half decent for him and that Eagles see him play another good year at the top level giving them insurance that it wasn’t a flash in the pan. I want to start with him but not so sure I can squeeze him in

Laird and Gawn are both full price and wont be your captain, so i would look elsewhere. Also not sure i would start with Macrae AND Grundy. Maybe just 1 instead. Wingard is having (hammy?) problems right now. I had him originally but am steering clear now.

As far as your question, Macrae is probably worth 890K. He could go up or down a bit, but its about right i think. I do think Kelly is a better option to start with for sure. Oliver had the surgery on his shoulders so he's a wait and see for now. I most definitely would have started Oliver if he was fit. Overall a good team selection. Taranto is a nice guess for sure. He's really good

I dont see macrae slowing down. I think he goes 120 and is a great captain option. Id keep him.

Only thing id recommend is downgrading gawn to goldy/jacobs etc. Use that cash to upgrade taranto to a premo. Not sure about having both taranto & liberatore in the same team. Also wigg wont play do your gonna have to spend some cash to go up to one of collins/rozee/quaynor. Wilkie probably wont either but burgess from gold coast should.

I have gone completely cold on Martin, after coming out with his injuries and Fagan declaring the Number 1 ruck position up for grabs.

I have gone for slightly expensive forward rookies, as I think Job security is probably going to be important, as the forward 170K rookies are a bit light on for early selection. So paying up may be the way.

I have tried to pick at least three players in each line that will be a longer term plan with who could be there in the best 22 at the end of the season.

Theres defs quick changes i could make i.e. Laird down to Whitfield and then use cash possibly upgrade Jacobs or Adams.

Yeeeah that was my concern aswell.. I really like my backline but a lot depends on Andy Brayshaw, Libba, McLean and Mundy improving as I expect them to. Definetly risky and I'll certainly be changing my mind fifty times before Round 1.

I went mid-priced last year and by round 3 was over 600 points off the pace and the season was over. G/L

I like the Mundy pick, not enough respect even though he is old, he has a good ability to score and might run through the midfield more now the forward is more stacked.

The mid pricers you have gone actually arent that risky and youve got the premos for decent structure. If i were you id upgrade kruezer to sauce jacobs or goldy. Just dont trust kruezer hes bound to go down at some point
