Nothing has been announced yet and wont be until after the season is over I would expect. But to promote player movement, which is what the AFL wants to keep the PA appeased, I would expect picks could be traded. Can you mid-season trade for future (end of year) picks?

He's having a pretty abysmal year in disposal efficiency. Brayshaw could be a better option for us.We should go hard at Clayton Oliver..

Nahh, Lachie WhitfieldI think we should go hard at Cripps, Gawn, Grundy, Jeremy Cameron, Coniglio, Josh Kelly, Taranto, Hopper, Hill and Fyfe!
.Bradshaw would be interesting. Our first (Pies) and a player. Is his brother still based up here at 6RAR?He's having a pretty abysmal year in disposal efficiency. Brayshaw could be a better option for us.
Just wait a year he is a RFA next year as is Whitfield.I think we should go hard at Rory Atkins.
I agree in parts to your thinking. I agree with the notion that we require another small forward and as good as it would be to have the two Camerons I’m not sure that it will happen, not for awhile yet. Wether via trade or draft I think we should bring another in especially for depth in that position.I haven't been on for a while and i haven't read back over the past so my thoughts could rehash others previous thoughts.
I like the use of McCarthy on the wing as we are seeing now. He gets more involved and his pace and leap, work well there. That opens up playing time for a small fwd. With this reasoning i suggest we fashion a trade using Cutler via a vic club if necessary to get Jarrod Cameron. We did bid for him and he pretty much sits behind a string of sm fwds at the eagles. He could set our fwd line alight with his brother for years.
With hodge finishing and our need for a speedy running half back/sm defender, some experience here would be handy also, i suggest we have a go at Jarrod harbrow. I think witherden can evolve into the qtr back role hodge plays, rich is having his best seaon ever so i dont want to change his role at all. Harbrow has a good 3yrs in him, his run, carry and defensive pressure are exactly what we need to compliment our defense. Sure he's contracted till end of 2020 but he becomes a free agent then and the lure of playing finals regularly at the end of a career would tempting. I would offer our first draft pick for him or our 2nd or third pick with nick robertson/ ben keays for example, maybe a good move for both players and clubs.
I think our midfield depth will develop nicely from within, tall and med defence depth is good, our fwd line is exciting and depth is developing too. So when it comes to trading for needs i think at the end of the year --- Cameron for cutler (via vic if necessary) and harbrow for our first pick or later pick plus player. Id be very happy with that. Anyway i hope ya's see some reasoning to my thoughts
I hope he stays at the Cats.Yeah true but we can’t have too many short people in the centre square. And besides he’s a gun when on songHe's having a pretty abysmal year in disposal efficiency. Brayshaw could be a better option for us.
We currently have 10 players on our list who came from other clubs, I think the 1 club player idea is a nice romantic notion but it doesn't really bother me at all. The players listed below are all loved at our club now, supporters embrace players from other clubs. Prime examples are Hodgey, Lachie and Charlie, they joined us and nobody says a bad word about them, universally loved by the Lions faithful.
Luke Hodge, Allen Christensen, Mitch Robinson, Lachie Neale, Lincoln McCarthy, Stef Martin, Josh Walker, Jarryd Lyons, Charlie Cameron and Marcus Adams.
I don't know what's up with him on a personal front but he's obviously not doing what the coaches want on the field as he can't get an extended run in the seniors, although he is injured now. Which is a shame because if he worked on what the coaches want and brought his renowned running game as well he could really add to our side.Anyone know what’s up with Tom Cutler? Article saying could look to come home due to family issue?
He's still OOC end of this year although so are a few on our list. I just had a look at Hawthorn's list and there really is no player that screams I'd take him for McStay, at a pinch if it was for family/personal reasons Sicily or maybe O'Meara or T.Mitchell but they only just moved from Sydney down to Melbourne so can't see them wanting to come back up north.Heard a rumour about Dan McStay on the move at the end of the season.Hawthorn interested I was told.
Yeah seems like the perfect storm for him to leave. Something not quite right at home in Melbourne and not getting a regular game. Pity because he is talented and will probably play at another club. Yeah might be able to upgrade a pick or some thing.I don't know what's up with him on a personal front but he's obviously not doing what the coaches want on the field as he can't get an extended run in the seniors, although he is injured now. IMO he'll be offered up for trade this off season and I'm sure there will be takers, I don't think we'd get much for him though.
I don’t think we would be getting their first rounder for him.Maybe a second rounder and future 2nd or 3rd?He's still OOC end of this year although so are a few on our list. I'd be driving a very hard bargain if Dan wanted to leave, on the verge of breaking out IMO, Hawthorn's first would get it done, so around pick 4-6.
Looking at the Hawks list they really don't have much there, in for a few years of pain IMO, about bloody time too.
I agree, it is purely hypothetical pie in the sky stuff from me.I don’t think we would be getting their first rounder for him.Maybe a second rounder and future 2nd or 3rd?
