Top 10 pick? Highly unlikely.. even Dodo won't be that silly
No, on your scenario they get 14 and 16 and I would expect them to possibly use 16 on a bid for Coleman.
EDIT: Sorry, just read your response after posting this.

With list manager Dom Ambrogio having worked hard to reshape the Lions' list over the past few seasons, Brisbane head to the draft having already done plenty of heavy lifting. Again Brisbane's academy has produced some strong talent, a credit to the recently departed academy manager Luke Curran, who was a victim of coronavirus job cuts.

The major source of draft night intrigue when it comes to the Lions is when a bid will come for small forward Blake Coleman, the younger brother of Indigenous Lions forward Keidean Coleman. Brisbane would be hopeful he could sneak through beyond their first pick but Collingwood are lurking with two picks in the first round and have shown interest. Outside midfielder Saxon Crozier and midfielder/defender Carter Michael are also Brisbane academy members who appear poised to be taken later in the draft although the Lions could let them slide, while Samson Ryan, Shatner Cashen-Harris and Jack Briskey are also eligible to be taken from the club's academy. Having lost Stefan Martin in their list crunch to the Western Bulldogs, Brisbane could do with some bolstering to their ruck stocks. Sources have them linked to Henry Walsh, the younger brother of Carlton's Sam Walsh. Henry is little brother in name only though, measuring in at 203 centimetres.

Haven't looked at Henry Walsh at all, here's a little about him from afl draft central >

https://afl.draftcentral.com.au/player/henry-walsh/

Walsh is a really aggressive ruck option who attacks the contest and follows up with good ground level pressure. He is still developing a number of areas of his game, most notably his speed and endurance, but he has a good base of footballing traits to build on for the future. He has an impressive leap which, thanks to his height, allowed him to average 27.3 hitouts per game at NAB League level, surpassing 40 hitouts in a game three times. He was generally one of the more high-volume rucks going around in the competition, and given he was still a beanpole of sorts, it was great to see him competing against bigger-bodied, albeit often shorter rucks. The goal for Walsh this year was to really cement himself in that Vic Country side and have more of an influence around the ground beyond his ruck stoppage dominance.

In terms of where he needs to improve, certainly his speed and endurance are good places to start. He does not need to be lightning quick as a ruck, but improving it a touch would help him out particularly when resting forward, whilst his endurance – 8:06 over 2km at the Draft Combine – will need to lift to run out a full game at the elite level. The best rucks at the elite level have elite endurance which is something Walsh can add to his game. It would enable him to have a greater impact around the ground, where he averaged less than a mark per game, and as a lightly-built ruck it is another area he can improve to be more of a dominant force. Basically, inside the contest, Walsh was clearly dominant against his direct opponent, whereas outside the contest, quicker or stronger rucks with bigger tanks could take advantage of him. Overall though, he still looms as one of the top ruck selections in this year’s draft and is naturally viewed as a long-term pick.

Not a ruck you would think could fill in if there were injuries to our ruck stocks, if we take him it is for 4-5 years into the future.

Would we have offered Hinge an extra year if we didn't have Birchall?

Undoubtedly. IMO.

He “cost” us a guy who played 3 games in 4 years and had a contract offer on the table which he chose to reject.

Not sure the loss will be massively felt.

Just coming of age, whilst Birchall is past it. Who would you have in 2 years time?

The more I read the more I agree with Quigley that this year seems to be a great option to refresh our ruck stocks. I still think its the main hole on our list and there seems to be 3 or 4 decent options that all seem better than has been on offer in recent years. And they all seem like they should be available around our picks - pending when a bid comes for Coleman.

Looking at Collingwood being the most mentioned club with interest we just need to hope a bid comes early for their academy kid to wipe out one of their picks or that a tall or mid slider is there. They really do need to refresh some spots on their list.

Melbourne has been mentioned interested in Coleman as well but I find that weird as didnt they take a small forward high last year? Then again they seem to make weird list choices (Pruess and then Jackson last year just seemed weird to me)

You’re ignoring that they don’t okay the same role, I really don’t think Birchall impacted the decision to offer Hinge a 1 year contract.

Considering Birchall is 99% likely to retire next year if take one of the other young defenders on our list over both of them in 2 years time. Hinge had some nice moments but honestly don’t think he would be best 22 in 2 years time either.

I doubt we'd have offered Hinge an extra year regardless of Birchalls status with us. It's very clear we don't rate him enough for two years. We certainly could afford to offer him two.
Why would have Birchall being on our list in 2021 have impacted our decision to give Hinge a contract for 2022?

The club helped Alex to go - under contract - and offered one to Mitch. Emergency for both finals.

If Birchall did not trigger the extension, Hinge would still be a Lion.

Phantom draft update: looking at Bowey, Durdin, Winder, or bidding on Gulden with 25 (now 30). Passed on Carter Michael at 26.
Good decision, that's absurdly early for Michael who probably won't even get drafted in the real thing. I favour Winder and Bowey, but use your best judgement.

I don't think his deal would have been any different. He has not earned two.

The TRIGGER was an extension for 2021. Hinge already had a contract offer for 2021. And none of this has anything to do with Witho.

Am I missing something?

If Hinge was good enough he would’ve backed himself to displace Birchall and earn a longer contract.

21 years old rookie pick. Either half a year waiting for Birchall to get injured, or basically assured of AFL gams - I know what I would have done.
