I hear you but I think it's close to a sure thing that the Cola Kids will take him at 3.
Swans don’t give much away, and will definitely pick best available. That might be any of the top 5, or even Bruhn who their recruiter talked up. DGB talk seems to only be based around perceived need, but some of their supporters think inside mid is more important.
From memory last year, there was a lot of Flanders talk on the Swans pick right up to the draft, and he was even the pick on Twomeys phantom draft.
If not him? Hayden Young will be strongly considered, as will Lachie Ash if he's available. Both of the half-backs are high on the minds of the Swans. Dylan Stephens' midfield prowess makes him also one of the leading contenders here.

I think GC would be crazy not to take philips. With his ability and the fact he is friends/ex team mates of Rowell and Anderson, just adds more reasons for them to stay together long term.

And, it would make for quite the midfield in a few years time..

Whilst I agree with you we are talking about a club that had the opportunity to select both King boys together and keep them both happy for 12-15 years. Yet they only took 1 and its very possible they will lose the one they have.

Not very smart.

Didn't they draft both Lukosius and Rankine in that draft?

Pretty sure every club except for St Kilda would have picked the same players with those same picks 🤔

Hi guys. Random question but I have been on both the Adelaide and North boards and they are both having discussions on possibly bidding on Campbell with their picks. Fortunately they are not their recruiters but it got me thinking about what if they did bid on Campbell with picks 1 or 2 what would the Swans do as I could not see us wanting to match the bid with pick 3 and basically lose a top 5 player.

So my question, if in the rather unlikely event North or Adelaide bid on Campbell do you think Hawthorn would be interested in the 2020 pick 3 in exchange for Hawthorn's 2021 first rounder, or is that something you do not think your recruiting team would consider?

If they do happen to bid then I seriously doubt you don't match.

I'd be very disappointed if we traded out next years first as I think it'll end up being a Top 5 in a stacked draft 😉

Yeah i think that is right.

I just thought, given there issue retaining players, it was a no brainer taking the King brothers.

It wasnt as if the second King was rubbish either. You were getting a gun CHF and CHB together.

I’d prefer keeping next years pick but it could be a bit of a win-win for both clubs. Hawks get to take two high end picks in this years draft + Downie. Swans salvage their first pick and still get Campbell.

Swans could even get a bit clever with Hawthorn’s future first by trading back into this years draft if the right deal eventuates.

Yes. We’ll do that, and as Crows will take Thilthorpe and North Hollands we’ll then offer Pick 3 to Bomber for 6 and 8.

So we’ll take Picks 4, 6 and 8 in the draft. Job done. 🥸

Or just take McDonald & Denver Grainger-Barass and have our key position stocks sorted for (hopefully) the next 12 years.

Looks in pretty solid shape, I think maybe it was just the polo being a bit baggy making him look a bit chubby in the other photo.
Thought the same looking at that clip. Pretty bad that we’re practically gate shaming the kid eh. He’s coming off a nasty knee injury which was during a pandemic mind you and at certain points occurred during when we were all in lockdown.

Whether we pick him or not good luck to the kid.

As somebody from Albury Wodonga I can't begin to explain how offensive it is to hear 'country folk' in reference to our city :drunk::p.

In al seriousness though, his Dad Ben was my first favourite local footballer when I was 7 years old supporting the North Albury Hoppers. I ended up playing for that club until I was 25 and played against Ben once when he was captain/coach of Wodonga.

It would be pretty cool to see Elijah in the brown and gold for personal reasons.

However, if the club go a different way i'm sure it's for the right reasons.

Pick 3 for pick 18 ?

Of course we would do that.

Are you fair dinkum ....we are shaming him are we .....HOW . ?
Hes put on pounds full stop .The mail is strong too that he behind on his recovery from his reco .
Don’t come on here and make out the kids being bullied ......FFS like he’d even know we’d exist!!!
Oh and i and others I’m sure wish him all the best AND hope he fully meets his potential.

I think Hawthorn would j7mp at tha5 opportunity tbh. I believe our list strategy has been to offload veterans and leave some best 22 spots open to give kids opportunities so it’s in our best interest to get gun 18yos in the door this year where opportunities will present next year. Pick 3/4 would next us DGB and Phillips!

I think there is a close to ZERO chance Crows will bid on Campbell. We only have a history of bidding for players at where the clubs in general rate them.

That being said, if North bid on Campbell, which i also highly doubt will happen, then there would be a number of clubs interested in Pick 3, including the Crows.
