I don’t think anyone’s offer will meet our demands for pick 4 if it turned out that way. They said they were open to trading it but would need to be “blown away”. I’m sure that means we’d take a firm stance an ensure clubs pay a premium for it - not just for its typical worth.

But hey, if clubs want to pay up for it then I’m keen.
Pies want to move their first rounder out next year.

If they offer 14, 16 and a future first in the belief that’s it’s another pick in the teens we’d have a good he’d look at it, knowing that they’re likely to nosedive next year and next years draft is definitely one to target.

They are eyeing off both our second round this year and next year, in exchange for their first next year.

Cox isn't going at 4 and the club will definetly want to pick before a downie bid so that would be a terrible outcome for us . Also when you say 2021 is a known draft what does that mean ? There is every chance next year could be a compromised season again, on top of all the Vic kids not getting a chance to play this year as a bottom ages they could potentially be going into the draft playing the same amount of footy as this year's crop.

Would be a bold call but don't be surprised. Have heard we like him a lot.

If academy bids go as predicted our picks should be
5
29
39
40
41

Hopefully these end up something like:

Pick 05: Will Phillips
Pick 29: Bailey Laurie/Eddie Ford/Jack Ginnivan
Pick 39: Connor Downie
Pick 40: Will Papley
Pick 41: Henry Walsh

All of these selections would address needs on our list, as well as giving us a cluster of youngsters to come up through the ranks together 😁

I don't think they'll nosedive as much as some people are suggesting, I still think the Pies will play finals in 2021.

They have offered Essendon 16 and next years first for pick 8.
Far be it for me to judge the Pies, but that seems like a terrible trade.
What will end up being pick 10 or 11 in the open draft, for pick 18/19 and future first, which you’d expect to be in the 10-14 range, with potential to be lower, in a deeper draft with more exposure.
With how even the top is said to be this year given the lack of exposure, that’s astounding.

Essendon knocked it back

The only player I can see that was like him (not exactly) was Jared Grant...Love of contest defines KPP and while his highlights have him taking a lot of marks, mostly the only contests he is in are where he arrives to mark the ball ahead of any defender i.e. no body on body at all. The only match I watched him in (that I remember) he didn't do much despite his obvious athletic gifts. I find it hard to project where he will land at afl level. Fynlayson type? Or can he become more Harris Andrews? I wouldn't give up pick 4 for the former but certainly would for the later.

Quite possibly right, however I've got them finishing in the bottom 6 of the ladder.

Either way it'll be interesting to see if they rise up from the ashes or continue to implode.

I'll definitely have the popcorn ready and be hoping for the latter 😎

Surely the TAC comp goes ahead next year though.

And if next year is the same as this year that’s 2 years of missed development the kids from next year will get.

At least the kids from this year only miss one year.

Next year will be fine, borders are closed and will stay that way until there is a vaccine and Dan has learnt his lesson about going his own way and is now copying other states so we can.be confident that the TAC cup will go ahead and will want to keep that early 2021 pick at all costs.

Essendon should grab that and run, it is nearly as bad as the Treloar deal. They do need to get rid of next years first due to the next Daicos but should do better given they will have a top 5 pick probably in a very good draft.
