Very interesting and good to see the Blues are really hunting hard to bolster the midfield stocks, club not willing to wait much longer for Dow and Stocker to develop by the looks of it, interesting off season coming up.

Stocker has couple yrs t
Strangely, we are very close to a premiership imo.

We are a star or 2, along with 2 or 3 solid citizens away.

- Williams imo is and will continue to be a star ✔
- Graham (hopefully we get him) I believe is better than a solid citizen ✔

If these 2 happen, we are close.

I'd chase Caldwell (becoming solid projecting to become a star)
Viney as a FA is a no brainer if we could talk him into coming.

Adding Charlie, Newman, Marchbank and Kemp to our available list greatly improved us.

Another small forward would be ideal also.

Need Dow and LOB to step up and we will have a very strong 2021 team.

Very positive about 2021
I agree
I see the Blues pushing the top eight next yr
I like our list and favour your predictions 👍

Dow and Lob won't be elites I hope both might develop properly at the reserves with intent to work hard and attack the ball at any cost.....they will have to or else
Kemp should be excellent later next yr.......

I feel like Amos will probably fight tooth and nails to keep Polson on the list.

Go to 14:45 and have a listen. Be interesting to see how this plays out.

How Long we give mcgovern then
Unless we change the way we are playing at the moment back to something like we were playing late last year then McGovern needs to be moved to defence, he will never prosper in a high press, bomb to the hot spot set up, in saying that I doubt it suits Charlie either so hopefully we will change our forward set up to something that suits lead up mark players.

Don't read too much into that.

He said what he had to say for a public interview. List management will be having different conversations behind closed doors.

Whatever happens, happens.

Does anyone think we need a ruckman?
Who is gettable?

I don't think it's a priority, especially if TDK plays as a solo ruck next season.

We'll then have Pittonet as backup and Casboult who can pinch hit if required. Both are relatively durable so the need for additional depth may not be as essential as it once was when Kreuzer was our primary ruck.

We are doing that a bit, with varied success:

# We keep players forward of the ball but that means we rarely rebound the ball
# We defend in a more one on one style rather than zone but that means we are vulnerable to mismatches and don’t have significant intercept marking opportunities or rebound from inside our own 50
# Our midfield doesn’t rotate enough and relies on contested ball, which we frequently win however, players get tired/tagged and speed off the contest is limited.

We do things differently, not always successfully. All these negatives have logical solutions.
Spot on BB, I think in the second half against Crows where we pushed our half forwards up into the midfield and even as far as half back and rotated the midfield mix gave us a lot better rebound and drive from defence while also opening up our forward 50 for the talls to work, this was how we played late last year and is a much more attractive and damaging set up both offensively and defensively.

How much are we going to pay Zac Williams? Is it really 900k per year for 5 years or is it front loaded? Knocked back 700 to 750 at gws and they say he wants to leave for money. Having a argument with non-Carlton friends. Confirmation please if it exists

Do you honestly think that Neale, who will most likely win their BandF and will most likely finish top 3 in the Brownlow has only had one tag this year? Give me a spell.
Robbo’s claim was that he can handle a tag, against Sydney in Rd17 he got a hard tag and was kept to 15 touches and did not handle it well at all, he might have run with players on him but he has not had hard tags, like Cripps gets every week, which was my point.

Interesting take... all he said was that he works hard on his craft and was pushing for a spot in the 22, which he got.

Was a fan of Hunt a couple of years ago. Haven't followed him closely enough to know his recent progress but someone I'd be in favor of adding - his speed would add value to any line and has intensity.

How did Ronke go from kicking 7 to on the scrap heap. That's quite the outlier.
Ronke is an interesting one I had a look at his stats from this year and he’s on about par with other smalls that are being offered up, was that 1 good season just a outlier? Or has Sydney’s structure changed to the point that it doesn’t suit him? I don’t know but he might be worth a look.

Really you'll be happy to trade Jack for pick 57?
I'd love a 1st round pick for him. Reality is, he probably wouldn't be considered in our best 22 come 2021.

If the tables were turned and we were after a player from another club who hasn't found his position after 5 years in the system and isn't a clear best 22 player, do you think we should be giving up a pick in the top 30 for them? We would be over on the other teams board saying 4th rounder at best.

I'd love him to stay. But fact is, if he decides to go, we would be getting anything decent for him.

So Williams puts us at capacity on senior list. Not sure why we rushed to upgrade Gibbons.

Would look to move Betts, Macreadie and Polson to rookie list (though Macreadie a risk I guess), and delist Moore which opens up 3 senior spots for the draft.

That seems about right. Anyone else we add would need a player moved on, Graham/Narkle for Kennedy is straightforward, then potentially a call on Jack, LOB, Dow depending on Saad and/or other targets.
Could be to just give him security. It's not the time to be a mature ager on a rookie contract.

Neale gets on the move so a hard tag is tough to put on him, cripps doesnt get on the move and blokes can sit on him. Cripps needs to change how he plays in close i reckon.
Yeah I agree Cripps does need to adjust the way he plays at stoppages as standing and trying to muscle your way to the ball is to easy to negate, Cripps will adjust and be better for having a tough year, this has been the first year where he hasn’t improved in at least one area of his game which is pretty amazing really. Both him and Doc will both have big pre seasons and be back to there best next year which should be very worrying for opposition teams.

we had to upgrade Gibbo or delist him so it makes sense
