Possibly, but I don't think he will be playing on-ball for us to take on the Cripps like bulls, let alone the build too.

Negating players come in different forms

Full blown taggers, negator, run with, head to head

A number of players can play one or a number of roles, depending on the opposition

Setterfield likes to tackle. Cripps hits hard (if you try and run through him/his space), Walsh will go in hard, Williams hits (as does Saad & Fogarty), Samo can wrap someone up and should be better after his stint down back.

Don’t necessarily have to hard tag if you can make your tackles stick, have a good structure around stoppages and if (nearly) everyone runs hard both ways.

Can do a bit of what the dogs do, position (bigger bodied) players to affect the space for an opponent to work with that minimised their opportunities to get clean ball.

Having speed in the middle helps too, being able to close space when the opp has the ball to reduce any easy exits from the stoppage/centre.

Then there’s Jack who can do a shutdown role on a specific type of player, like he did to Fyfe, but I wouldn’t pencil him in as tagger week in week out.

If Newnes is on a wing he can do a defensive job on an outside type, perhaps Cuningham could do ok in a run-with role on a more general midfielder (not an outside running machine or pure inside bull).

That being said, I’m hoping with our new recruits plus a fit Cripps and further improvement from the younger midfielders that Ed is no longer required to be a ball winner and he can start on the bench then enter the game having picked his target before wearing some poor b****** like a glove for the rest of the game...

He will put on weight, tough runt

I'll revisit when he has put on some weight....love the fact we wil have our own reserves side - we can develop players propelruyy no excuses now.

I think some people don't understand how fast we are going to be as a side. Josh honey and Sam Philip are lightning quick and will make the 22 in the next couple not to mention adding saad, fogarty and williams and we already have some pretty quick players. Bulk run and carry and I love it

Main positive for me is we've brought in three players who appear to understand there is still a game to play when we don't have the ball.

Fogarty highlights actually remind me of Jack a bit. Second and third efforts, good, quick decision maker.

Looking forward to getting back to some full length games too which will suit plenty on our list.

Addressed speed, kicking, hard edge with all 3 that we brought in.

Remaining holes in order of priority imo:

1. A grade mid. We need another. So many potentials already on the list, but none are ready made.
2. A grade small forward. Betts too old, Owies, Fogarty and Honey all potential but nothing to suggest they'll fill that void yet.
3. Ruck/Forward. Pitto imo is a stop gap type to support TDK. Casboult is old. We need one that can pinch hit and rest up forward with good effect. TDK hasn't shown the ability to be dangerous target up forward yet.
4. KPD depth. Weiters and Jones with only Macreadie now. Moore is not a long term option and neither is Casboult or Gov.

Just wanted to confirm

Have no interest in Gallucci, stated my reasons previously

Pittard would be like recruiting a boomerang

There will be some better players delisted shortly, hopefully ones that suit our needs
Pittard is worth an assessment as an attacking wing if we have a role for that within our structure, and along with Gallucci should be somewhat coachable, but I say that expecting literally anybody in the AFL to behave like a mature adult male.

So far I've been fairly consistently let down in this respect.

notice me!

[waving] Hello!
Strange response mate. Just sharing a view that I don't think any of those players would be worth a shot on our list....

Bit insecure and defensive are you Jim?

You offered literally no new information. I would have taken the thumbs down over that.

Go start a fight in the street instead.

I'm not starting a fight I shared my view on a list of delisted footballers on a football forum. I don't think any of them are worthwhile pursuing. I didn't make a personal comment about you. You're the one who has gone weird with it by changing what I said and suggesting I'm speaking from an egotistical point of view.

[waving] Hello!

Can't see Pittard or Gallucci being taken by any side
