So why aren't Port flag favorites?

They now get two home game finals, Brisbane would be 2nd .

I guess it comes down to beating Collingwood next week, lose and it means Richmind rather then Geelong ( I know which team I'd rather)

Dogs winning with percentage essentially pushes GWS pick into the top ten and ends their finals chances.

Giants now need Dogs to lose to Freo next week (unlikely), Pies to lose to GC (unlikely), Demons to lose to Bombers (unlikely) and beat the Saints (unlikely).

Likely result is Pies beat GC, Dogs beat Freo, Demons beat bombers and Saints beat GWS.
This would leave GWS 10th and Fremantle 11th.
But with points defecit GWS pick 9 (Pick 10 if Crouch compo) becomes Pick 8 (Pick 9 with Crouch compo).

But we really want Freo to beat the Dogs buy 20 to 30 pts and GWS to lose to the Saints by 20pts that will secure us pick 8

They got West Coast and Richmond at the right time and thrashed by the other contenders in Brisbane and Geelong.

Freo has a point deficit so any picks close to their first will get upgraded.

The ideal scenario is GWS finishes 1 position higher than Freo, or Freo overtakes GWS. Both work.

If Port loses, their position on the ladder is determined if the Lions win/losses.

ie Port can come 1st or 2nd and therefore could play Tigers or Cats.

I'm not saying they aren't a good team but if i were to select my favorites I'd have Richmond, Geelong and Brisbane ahead of Port. Port mids lack accountability and good teams expose this.
