Powell had 19 disposals, 1.1 goals (should've been 2 but dodgy score review), 1 goal assist and 300 metres gained

^ Powell acquitted himself well today but one eyed supporter disagrees with ump who called touched, and the video which as best as you can make out on potato cam looked touched. Hardly even close to a contentious call lol.

Everyone was saying he was too small and that why clubs didn't bid earlier. The irony is Swans probably couldn't have matched an earlier bid....he was there for the taking.

Yep. If Gulden was 180cm he would have been in the top 10 easily. For ages he was only about 169cm or something like that, but in his final year he grew to 176cm so despite all the talk of his height he ended up being a perfectly acceptable size, certainly big enough that it should not have affected his draft range like it did.

People just forgot that he was no longer as small as he once was, and it was no longer a question mark over his head.

Pretty damned happy with Campbell, McDonald and Gulden.

Campbell and Gulden should be in the team in 2 weeks time on pure output, Campbell showing amazing kicking ability and Gulden having a huge amount of footy smarts.

McDonald might not be best 22 yet but he could be in the team pretty early as well as he didn't look out of place today, and having him in the forward line improved our forward structure a lot.

Ended up as 3 of the best on ground against Brisbane

Tom Powell had a cracking debut, few inaccurate kicks but overall very excited by him and found the ball pretty easily. All the Sydney guys looked great.

Oliver Henry is a long way off the standard. I’m not too excited about his future as he seems slow, isn’t KP height and isn’t a midfielder. Although I do know virtually nothing of him.

Chapman played well...I think He'll debut this weekend
Western was ok.
Walker and O'Driscoll coming back from foot and shoulder injuries...both should be training with the left over squad in a heavy session on Saturday, as Peel are not playing.

Thought he was outstanding. Forget who he kicked it too (might have been Walker), but there was one kick where he was running into 50 and put it to the advantage of your forward for an easy set shot. These small things are not noticed by many but you can bet anything they are what coaches want.

I was at the Gabba Saturday night and your other 2 debutants were pretty bloody impressive as well, Swans were really good, should have won by more in the end.

Geelong was an odd one. Trading out of what is considered a stronger draft to take a guy from nowhere that had played only 1 game this year. They traded very well though for where they are at in terms of premiership window

Preseason and has 1 BOG in a reserves practice match. Round 2 is emergency in the senior side.
We've clearly seen something we like.

Looks like they knew his actual height but badly mis-judged his football ability. How's pick 3 going for you guys? Reckon the Swans are rapt in their pick 4!

We're very happy with our draft haul, expect to be back in the finals very soon. Hope North enjoy their turn at pick 1 this year, don't muck it up

Max Holmes getting a debut against Hawthorn. He must have been really impressive with the back to back BOG in the 2s because he's still pretty skinny. Having 4 first choice midfielders out probably helped him.

will be fun to watch. Right now he’s all massive workrate and aggression, but a bit sloppy. Expect him to grow into his game over time and get better. Should gain a few fans Friday night.

Yep, haven’t even seen 4 of the top 10 yet including Jamarra who obviously but for the dogs’ NGA would’ve never played footy.

I’m pretty stoked with what I’ve seen from Perkins and the Unicornholio as I’ll call him from now on, interested in what Reid will bring, he’s now got some high standards given the others around him but he’ll definitely need some time in the gym to get strong enough
