This appears to be a classic case of 'BigFooty Lore' at work - someone makes an unsubstantiated claim on page 1 of a thread and it's set in concrete truth by Page 5, with no actual evidence.

Put up or shut up - what direct and credible knowledge do you have of this?

I have it from multiple sources (one of whom I trust) that she is a “pest”.

I also feel terrible about the year they’ve had personally, and DuckYeah has been disgracefully insensitive, but the premise of club falling out with Family rather than Ben per se makes a whole lot of sense to me.

Excuse my ignorance, but hollands seems to figure prominently for our pick 2 on bigfooty. He missed the whole season with an ACL, is he worth the punt at 2 and given most players with that sort of injury seem to slide, isnt he more likely later? I cant comment on him as I've never seen him, just seen some other well regarded draft watchers dont have him that high.

Edit - if he isnt the 2nd best player, I dont want him at 2. I would personally like to see us take the best available kid at every pick we have

Giantroo has some highlights in the Draft thread
He looks very good 👍

What if they were the type of player we couldn't build a team around, they didn't fit within the "game plan" or have a bad haircut?

It wouldn't be. It would be upgrading our 2020 pick to six, and getting a first round in 2021. I think it's pretty fair for both parties.
I would take that and run. I would also love the extra incentive to death ride those pricks. They are doing nothing next year with or without Brown imo.

Wait what? Even if this is true, which I have no reason to believe, other clubs have players with criminal records, on domestic violence charges, with massive gambling debts and outlaw motorcycle gang links, but the tough new sherrif at North is going to trade away a model citizen and fan favourite because his wife is allegedly a "pest." I suspect not.

Forgive the intrusion just had a wildcard suggestion for you - and one that I think could work well for both clubs;

Polec is from South Australia. Could North give him to the Crows and swap top pics? (late pic make-ups if needed, IDK maybe you get their third or something) Seems North not in love with Polec and that deal could get the Crows Polec and Thilthorpe - two locals out of the draft. Which wouldn't be a bad result for them.
North get McDonald - your future KPD, also a good result and move on from Polec if that's what they want.

How about it?

Question is, do clubs think there is a large enough difference between McDonald, Tilthorpe and Hollands to want to burn currency to move around the order?

I am not sure there is the upside for us to upgrade the pick, given the number of changes we are making we don't want to be filling a lot of spots with late round picks so getting a decent pick/player on it's own is probably more value to us.

There is also the prospect of going into 2021 with Larkey (22 year old/29 games), Comben (19 year old/0 games) and McDonald (18 year old/0 games) as the key forwards, it is lacking in experience and physical maturity.

I wouldn't be surprised if we traded Polec to someone for something that could use to get Wright from GC who seem to be happy to get him off the books as much as we are of Polec. He isn't going to be a coleman medalist but he is 24, 203cm/103kg, played 66 games, I think he could be the more focal point of inside 50s and he has some rucking experience which we need someone to help Goldy when he is off the ground. Then whomever is available at pick 2 that is the best candidate we can take. If that is McDonald then that is great, it gives him more of an opportunity to develop without having to try and carry the team at 18 years of age. If it is Hollands then great.

I think that would be a better outcome for us.

I've been pushing for someone like Cameron on decent money for this very reason. Sure he wont win us finals anytime soon but he will give some structure to a relatively inexperienced forward line. Maybe it doesn't have to be cameron but we need some experience in there otherwise we'll have 6 in the forward line with sub 40 games experience. Happy to get wright if he's in our fulltime plans but not if he's just going to be a stop gap. Either play him as 2nd ruck with xerri when goldy retires or vice vera. We can easily afford to have 2 physical talls in the forward 50.

The thing about Wright is his upside is massive. We really wouldn't know if he was a stop gap or the second coming until he gets into our system and shoulders the load on the forward line

Just on Comben, is there a line of thought that North think that they might have got the steal of last years draft, I get the feeling that internally there's a big rap on him?

Game is moving away from lumbering tall forwards.

We need one, even two, crumbing forwards.

If he's way more physical and mobile in the forward 50 than brown is and I reckon we'll be onto a winner. Though there's gotta be a reason outside of just King in the side that he's not played all year.

Yeah I think so, it's only a hunch though.

There's no doubt Charlie wasn't being cotton woolled. He was thrown in the deep end and he hasn't drowned. That on it's own and a handy grab in a preseason game is all he can hang his hat on at this point. As I said, let's hope. It's about time we got one from nowhere.
