I get the sentiment, but they collaboratively have what? 30 games between them all?

plus 1-3 years of exposure to our coaches - 30 more than a draft pick as well. Point being that if the only point of pick 2 is to get a key forward and North feel they have that already then we have options.

It's sh*t and I'm personally offended. It should be shorter and I'm not wrong

And remember half the clubs have been talking since end of their season so that's six weeks ago now so don't need another week to talk... this period should purely be for the lodging and final agreements. Even teams playing in the finals have had nearly 3 weeks already

Brady and team will know who they want and where in the draft they are expected to go so trading pick two , while sounding drastic, means little unless you know our plans and needs.

If we have a pool of 5-10 players that we would love to get 2 or three of then swapping 2 makes sense. Comben, Larkey and Xerri appear to have the faith of the coaches that they are the real deal so I'm happy to trust BRady and team to deliver the plan.

Fantastic reading the effort going towards getting value for Higgo and Brown too - no guarantees but awesome intent and work.

If we end up with several second rounders then it'll be great for live trading.

My biggest concern is Anderson - keen to see him locked in!! If that falls through, worst case we get a 1st rounder and I guess its Dom Tyson's time to step up and prove himself.

Interesting few days coming up.

Feel like we are in good hands.

I think we are in good hands too.... my main issue is fwd as we aren't being linked with anyone. This year showed we need more than larkey and yes we have comben but he hasn't played as yet but obviously thought about highly..... not sure xerri is a fwd.... does that mean we are targeting lmac but obviously that isn't our hands.... would just like another in for depth security. I don't like the talk of playing walker forward. Thought this ssn would have put an end to that.....

In terms of jed.... I think he will sign but if he gets a ridiculous offer ie the talk of a late first from Carlton then you would have to think about it.... eg I'd give that straight to gws for Caldwell personally. he is only just best 22 when all fit and depending on draft and trade if we bring in more then they will be also challenging him... as could a fit tyson if that ever happens

GC likely to pick up either hollands or philips and I dont know if I could deal with losing either and watching them dominate alongside rowell for years.
We'd really have to get the maximum deal for it to be worth imo.

If the top 5 outside juh are seen by us to be pretty equal ie lmac thil dgb Phillips Hollands then it could be beneficial if we get a good deal

If only we had a FF who was mature and capable of kicking 40 or so a year to keep us going for the next 4 years while we top up.
If we had one the young guys could develop along side him and we could probably trade out pick 2 for other options in areas we really have holes in.
Wonder if there are any FF’s around like that......

Didn't someone say Schultz was coming to us?

Someone at Freo said we had put an offer to Schultz that they couldn't match.... whether that true or not.... Freo were waiting on list sizes before offering new caks.... this article doesn't say anything new..... they are in line to be offered which is same status as a couple of weeks ago

It bit more like it for brown multiple picks, don’t like the trade pick 2 talk

This is interesting because it sounds like a NM source for the first time. I can’t see Melbourne telling Ralph that they have been “continually pushing McDonald”.

Gives a bit of a glimpse of Brady’s expectations.

Once the midfield gets fixed Larkey will be doing that. It could be as soon as next year. He's a ~35 goal a year player already in a very inefficient team.

A lot of folks aren't seeing the value in what we already have under our noses. Nick is already banging through 0.5 more goals a game than Petrie at the same age.

I agree Souva is looking the goods, all I was meaning is that pick 2 could have been a good option to split if we weren’t looking to fill KPP roles this year or next or next or next.

I don't think there's any need for the volume of players that people are suggesting.

How much absolute cream does Richmond have in their side? Four players? Five?

We already have Simpkin, LDU & Thomas already on the books. Another KPD, Comben or another KPF & some speed is all that's required.

We're going to ask Larkey to be the number one forward, though. At the same age, Petrie was third banana behind Nathan Thompson and Sav Rocca.

I have faith in the kid, but it's a big ask.

We won't be using pick 2 to fill any immediate needs. These kids are long term prospects. By the time they were really ready, Brown will be done anyway.

I need to see how they're going to structure first mate.

Lots of sides are only going with one true KPF & a swingman these days.

Simpkin, LDU and TT aren't absolute cream. They're potential cream.

I think expectations will be kept in check for the next year or 2. He's going to be a big, strong man when he's around 26-28 which will fit in with the cream we have in the list now and hopefully what's to come.
