If that were to happen along with Stephenson and Young coming in and say 5 picks in the top 30, surely the narrative needs to switch to the "most exciting young list in the comp" quickly.

Then aim for a deal for the Dog's #14.

I'd then love Collingwood to involve their future 1st in a deal with Stephenson.

We have a bit more flexibility then with 11 & 14 and I'd be prepared to trade one of them.

Totally agree, they have until 3pm to get this sorted.... then that can be pushed through on the dot.... then we will have what? potentially 4 2nds 2 4ths and a 5th to trade with and if not we look to pair up and couple and off to the draft....

I wonder if this line of speculation is advised with the indication from the Stephenson camp he wants to move. If he says no then none of this speculation matters.

Dogs don't want 2020 1st, Pies don't want 2021 1st. Expect that exchange to be the core of a Treloar trade.

Slight downside to this is that if * don't get Dunkley they will def get Caldwell.... if they get Dunkley not overly sure they need Caldwell too esp if already lose two firsts for Dunkley..... not going to give up another

Pick trades can continue after today so there's no guarantee pick 14 will have moved.

There’s no way at this point that Stephenson hasn’t made up his mind. North would have asked him and his manager to have made a decision by now. We’re not going to the effort of orchestrating a trade before he’s opted in.

We probably need 25+26 to put together an offer that’s tempting enough for the dogs to trade 14. They don’t want to have to keep too many list spots open so they’ll be less interested in a lot of garbage picks for points. So that means holding out for 26 from the dees. Then as Pykie points out, 14 gives us more options for JS including the possibility of a future 1st.

I want so many future firsts. Give me all the future firsts.

Again, the dogs/14 scenario is a seperate situation that I don't view as maximising the Stephenson trade.

If we want Collingwoods 2021 1st round pick, then we give them one this year.

I can't see where the two scenarios intersect.

I just wouldn’t like our picks this year to be 2 and then something in the late 20s; 2 and 14 this year gives better balance between 2020 and 2021
