It's a different regime since his draft but I've no doubt we've always been big on Jayden. I'm of the opinion if LDU didn't slip to us that we would have drafted Jayden - if he's "available" we're mad not to jump on it.

I think 2020 will be an outlier for Stevo. 41 goals in his 1st season as a skinny kid when one on one he easily beat bigger more experienced players. He isnt a forward, TAC was a mid and that's where he will end up. He just did things from day 1 that made me stand up, he just sees the game quicker, only Pendles at the Pies does that better. We all rate our own I know but for mine he is better than all the Magpie and Roo junior talent. I reckon he can be top 10 in the comp.

Interesting to see where you guys place Stephenson. If you get him for a second rounder and I think you will as we won’t have options it will be a steal. He is the best young talent at Collingwood and will be a goal kicking mid in the future. If I look at our current mid stars he is not likely to end up at Pendles level but will have a better career than Sidebottom. That’s always been my prediction since season one. I would certainly back him to have a better career that De Goey. Would be a disaster for us to lose him

we are in a position to match whatever Essendon are paying him. Just front load him and Stephensons deals to give us flexibility in the future.

Go to the draft get Mcdonald and trade up on draft night to try snaffle DGB too.

Fire selling Trelaor and Stephenson but keeping Phillips was never going to go down well.

It really came down to whether anyone wanted Phillips.


I imagine Hawthorn will be wanting Collingwood to pay a big wedge of the $600k they owe Phillips as well.

Treloar sounds the hardest if bulldogs want 300k paid.... and hawthorn was only offering 300-350 for Phillips which is half what currently on....

They need all three off the books, especially if they have to pay a chunk of both Treloar and Phillips to move them. They were all shopped around for a reason.

What made the whole situation worse is that they became quickly acquainted with Dodo saying that he loves it when Kane lays the boot in and told him to "bring it on", while they high-fived and indulged in self-adulation for a few minutes.

So we lose two primary players spots as expected. So we are on track to replace 6 players in the draft, 5 if we take Stephenson or 4 if we expect someone good to crash into the PSD ie if Hately and Caldwell end up in the PSD.

I am feeling uneasy about Anderson, Walker and EVW not having contracts atm.

Our cap has to be a disaster. Stevo is the last of Treloar , Phillips and Cox we wanted to lose but as Cox and Phillips not getting done and Treloar still in the balance Stevo is the sacrificial lamb. We lose on this, he would be a steal at 11 let alone 2nd round. 18 yo old skinny kids dont kick 41 goals in 1st seasons. No one does.
