Fantasia and Daniher both leaving would clear a lot from their cap.if essendon get him they might as well just announce the salary cap as dead, like in a big way

Daniher will free up a lot of space if he goesif essendon get him they might as well just announce the salary cap as dead, like in a big way

Essendon should be going hard for him, would suit them perfectly and an easy trade with Fantasia going to Port.

Maybe not, but either way he won't be on a lot of moneywill any club touch him? dr peter larkins spoke about the injury and tbh it sounds like career over. his last option was completely untried for sports people and involved fusing the bone in the groin.
Since George shut the coronavirus / political correctness thread, that would have to the most ridiculous comment I have seen in here.but the problem is the list demographic is also ageing. you have quite a few important pieces at the end of their 20s or above. majority of it in the mids to late 20s. then a bunch of kids, some good prospects but a lot really unknown.
Just my opinion, but next year's first stays quarantined for Bing..As much as I like Dustan. If we walked Caldwell and Wines through the Door. Port walked Hately and Dustan and GWS walked two firsts through the door, lookout that’s a huge win.
St Kilda get: Caldwell and Wines
Port get: Dustan and Hately
GWS get: two first rounds, (maybe they’d be interested in future’s as 2021 is a super draft). So St Kilda’s 2021 first and Port’s 2020. ,(Schofield)
I couldn't see getting later picks back with only Dunny in that trade.Hold your horses. I’m keeping Wilkie. The rest is brilliant though.

We have 9 players on our list 27 or above.
Ryan Abbott and Nathan Brown are pure break in case of emergency, and Ryder is a 32yo backup ruck to allow Marshall to develop. Hardly important pieces
Geary, Roberton, Sav and Carlisle are all backman. Moreover, Geary and Roberton have clear young heirs to their position (who as it stands this week are probably already better players) and Savage is now pretty much break in case of emergency (like Brown or Abbott). Regardless, 7 of the 9 players on our list 27+ are not even mids!
Of the exactly 2 mids on our list 27+, one is Ross (who is just 27yo and one month) and one is Hanners (who is 29 but has 4 years left on a contract).
Our mid group is then Marshall (24), Steele (24), Gresh (22), Billings (24), Clark (21), Dunstan (25) and Hill (26). Barring injury (or a dropoff in form), all have 5+ years left in the game.
So outside of Carlisle (who is not a mid which you were discussing) and Hanners (who after just 6 games, and with 4 years left on a contract, you say needs replacing), we have exactly 0 "important pieces at the end of their 20s or above"
Any teenager we draft now, can conceivably play 150 games before players like Billings / Steele / Marshall even hit 30.
If we have an 'ageing list demographic', then the 15 or so teams with older lists must all be absolutely faarked

Thinking about fusing my bone into my groin! Anything to avoid the dreaded soft droop! I'm thinking it may just revive my career! Then I'm sure all the club's will want to touch me! Dr Peter Larkins can keep his busy hands to himself though!will any club touch him? dr peter larkins spoke about the injury and tbh it sounds like career over. his last option was completely untried for sports people and involved fusing the bone in the groin.
Doesn’t matter whether they will touch him or not. He is out of contract. They would certainly have enough money. Don’t even get your point about the salary cap.will any club touch him? dr peter larkins spoke about the injury and tbh it sounds like career over. his last option was completely untried for sports people and involved fusing the bone in the groin.
So if we can’t develop them or trade for them then how do we get them. We can’t just accept finishing bottom 6 every year.
We won’t be touching Bing until roughly 2023/24.Just my opinion, but next year's first stays quarantined for Bing..
The cap is completely fine.We keep trying to trade for A graders and improve our drafting/scouting.
Sounds like the impending covid enforced salary cap cuts should help shake some A graders loose.
Hopefully we haven't blown our great salary cap position on guys like hill, howard and jones and we are in a good spot to wave big bucks at any stars who dont want to take a big pay cut next year and beyond

The cap is completely fine.
The clubs that have massive caps this year are because 30% of their lists are out of contract. We will potentially lose Carlisle which is significant cap space this year. Hill and Hanners remain.
We will gain McCartin salary space back. Robbo would be in a big deal aswell.
I don’t think we will be a big player overall bar 1 or 2 deals. But would love to reinvest Carlisle into picks.
You mean North MelbourneI'm praying for GWS to win the flag this year.
Jelly then declares mission accomplished and exercises his contractual right to walk out on the giants and into our moneytruck.... i mean arms.

I just think we'll be maintaining a suitable exchange in the event Ben decieds he's had enough of his time at GC.We won’t be touching Bing until roughly 2023/24.
His current contract is huge. He will take another 2 year deal on similar coin most likely as the suns will be on the up. It’s after this contract where we will push. In my opinion.
I don't disagree, but Bing is a different case. We'll take him at any opportunity, and so we should.Because what we really need is another tall back. Mids are so overrated.
Does anyone know whether the Covid cutbacks have affected the 'stay on the gold coast' ambassador payments from the AFL?We won’t be touching Bing until roughly 2023/24.

With many people losing their jobs and taking payouts, surely the AFL cant afford to pay these players extra amounts just to not leave.
