I'd hoped he would slide to us in the draft , but i wouldn't want to be trading picks or other players for him now.
Not when we have Membrey, Battle, Parker, and Mayo , all of which play that mid size tall forward roll.
I'll be disappointed if Mayo is a victim of reduced list sizes. He played some good footy in his half year at Sandringham, and i was interested to see how he would go after a StKilda pre-season. Same with Parker.
I guess Stephenson is better than all of them in that role but is he enough better to make it worth what we'd need to give up?

Yep we have far greater holes to fill than the one stephenson would fill.
Coughing up for him would mean missing out on a shot at fixing our lack of starpower in the mids

His age and potential make him very desirable. He plays small and mid sized and is a super high impact player. He literally nails shots from anywhere and is a proven match winner. To me he's got top 20 player in the AFL potential. I'd chase Witherden while Brisbane are dicking around leaving him out too.

I couldn't see getting later picks back with only Dunny in that trade.
I'd also prefer keep Wilkie, but at the end of the day we can cover his loss and tip the value into the midfield where it's needed.

Watching Tracca play his best game would of made the Demons happy , it has taken a long time and this is why we have to be patent with our youth.
So we just could see vast improvement in many of our players.
Also watching the Crows today seeing the Crows get flogged makes the move not to get Crouch look like a really good move.
Then letting Newnes go looks like a smart move as well.

The McCartin pick is the biggest **** up in the professional drafting era. Its utterly insane how bad they ****ed it.

To not even find a GOP at pick 1 is just utterly absurd.

Where we are today can be traced directly to that draft. We could not have done a worse job if we tried. And the tragedy is how ****ing strong it was all the way down.

The last time I checked, injuries can't be predicted and being drafted at pick 1 doesn't make a player impervious.

We cannot say, with any certainty, that it was the incorrect choice when Paddy's career never played out. He showed quite a decent amount of promise for a young KPF in the limited games he was able to play (let alone considering the number of matches he left early), all the while he was still unfit whilst battling through his multiple injuries.

There are plenty of things that should be criticised over the past near-decade, but that pick 1 is not the hill I'd choose to die on.

With the dominant season Petracca had in the junior comps he was the clear and the safest bet at Pick 1 but we decided to punt on a forward which was a speculative pick at best. Even without Paddy's concussions I still doubt he was the best option there at 1.

Surprise you rate Tom Lee ahead of Reiwoldt and Bruce. Reiwoldt was our no. 1 forward at the time and Brucey was tried as a forward end of 2014 where he kicked 3 goals in his first game as a forward against the suns. 2015 Bruce was our leading goal kicker. Semantics. You know what I meant. Josh Bruce was playing in the backline. Petracca isn't that much better at all than McCartin, and to say it's the worst pick in professional drafting history is just silly. Tambling over Franklin is an easy one to mention off the top of my head.

Haha, it wasn't Tambling over McCartin, it was Tambling over Franklin. Tambling played 100 games in a shit side and overall judged as a pretty average player. Franklin on the other hand has near on 1000 goals and one of the greatest forwards of the modern era. I'd say Richmond stuffed up more than we did, for sure.

How in the hell does another club selecting another player have anything to do with what WE GOT for the player WE SELECTED.

Like because hawthon select buddy somehow means what we did with pick 1 us suddenly not as bad.
