If I were a bombers fan, I would be sick to death of the Daniher saga. This elongated process of supposedly 'making up his mind' is farcical. He's clearly out the door. I think they'll be better off without him. The idea of Daniher has been much bigger than the reality of him. Barely gets on the park and stops them from recruiting another KPF because they've been wanting it to work with Daniher.

The Carlton play (to me) is to big dick it. Make a reasonable deal, potentially involving 7 plus a lot back, give them a hard 24 hours to agree, then trade 7 for 13 and whatever the Cats own first rounder is, alongside whatever steak knives get shuffled around in the process and take that leverage of a top 10 pick off the table.

Was about to say the same thing. Swap that 7 for multiple later picks and watch Dildo throw a fit

Satan gave Bellend a hard 2 minutes, walked out. Half an hour later pick six was 12 &18 which went to Port for Paddy and Doogs, with 10 coming back.

I haven't been sold on Carlton but they should be a good chance for top eight next year. It's a pretty solid looking team. Whether or not Williams can be the midfielder they want him to be will be important.

B Marchbank Jones Newman
HB Docherty Weitering Saad
C SPS Cripps Williamson
HF Martin McKay Gibbons
F Betts Curnow TDK
R Pittonet Williams Walsh
I Setterfield Murphy Curnow Newnes/Fisher

Good, go and post it on their board!

Don't get the love for Saad - yep runs fast, bounces the ball a lot but 25% of them are in the first 5 metres, next 25% are when he going sideways and another 25% is when he's run too far and then the forwards are completely out of position.

Carlton would be better off picking up Savage for free and spending Pick 7 on midfielders and a half decent forward to replace McGovern.

But hey if Carlton are prepared to cough up Pick 7 for him, if I was Dodoro I'd take it and run like ...................Saaaaaaaaaaaaadddd!!!
No Pebs, this is footballing operatic tragedy.
The 2 biggest scumbags in the league, neither of whom have figured out how to build a list in the time of salary caps, going at it for the pleasure of the onlooking public.
Saad is definitely worth pick 7 and change IMO!!

I have a feeling we'll go after Daniher. Seems like we want another kpf with King and Daniher wouldn't cost much (FA). Would obviously be a big gamble though
He is off to the Lions , so all the good sauces say :tomato:

Thought the last two looked ok

Pretty incredible effort from Minchington to carve out such a long career.
We always praise the big name players at the end of their careers but fighting day in, day out for one year contracts and extra chances says a lot about a players character.

We’d then have King, Ryder/Marshall, Daniher, Members all in one forward line. Yeah, nah.

Possibly only 1 year left in Ryder and at his age is a 50/50 chance to either rested or injured. We may not have the options of Brown, Daniher, 2MP or Miochek next off season when we need someone. The overlap isn’t ideal but neither is rolling the dice for a Ryder replacement when he retires or drops below AFL standard.

Why do we need someone though?

In season 2022, King (21/22) Battle (23/24) and Membrey (27/28) forward with Marshall (26) in the ruck is enough imo.

All we need to do is switch Battle from his roaming role to a more full time forward allowing us to play another more genuine midfield type. If we plan to move him to CHB I can see us getting another established KPF but I can’t see the need if that’s not the case.

I love watching Carlton lose though. Never get sick of it. Docherty, Murphy, Jones, older Curnow and Betts getting pretty long in the tooth tho. Newman avg. Curnow struggles to get in the park consistently. If their older players can stay on the park and play well they should be good, but if not they have some big holes. Interesting to see how Williams goes in the midfield

Would be terrific conent if they didn't improve. The hype over the next few months will wear pretty thin so would be good value watching the Carlton melts if they go nowhere.

Carlton are mehhh.
Cripps is starting to show wear and tear with his body. Dow not coming thru as expected. Heart and soul of club retiring Simpson and Kreuzer. Gibbs and Murphy gone and close to gone.
McGovern a bust McKay cannot get on the park Walsh a gun...oh and the boom recruit Jack Newnes (actually like Jack) they are a very ordinary team with extraordinary hype just like Essendon. Both going nowhere and it is great to watch.
They are the Richmond on the 90s and 00s.
Keep DoDo at Essendon as he is the condom on the prick of progress.

Go Saints
