It was advised that Billings was good in hub.

Just me Steele , Howard , Wilkie, Membrey , Marshall with guys like Hannebery & Geary still having input
is very solid group.

Bytel & Byrnes came with those credentials in their junior careers as well
Billings came from nowhere and stepped into a leadership role when Robbo went down. His next summer he went next level with his training levels (Richos last season) and then from what I’ve been told. Completely went to the next level with the Hub. He was huge for the group especially the younger ones.

So was it actually him that was touring Essendon?
I'm inclined to not believe anything that isn't vague like what johnny would say. Or Joffa when he's pretending to be johnny

Steele Captain, Membrey and JB Vice Captains?

Wilkie and Howard into the leadership group.

Not it is not. Not the general consensus at all. He is worth what the market will pay for him.

The market says he is worth 600 to 650 x 4 as a FA. As a trade his is worth is unknown.
Fair enough. Maybe it’s just my view. I certainly wouldn’t be keen on giving up a top 10 pick for him If he was contracted.

I resemble that remark. From my sources it may or may not have been Seb Ross at Essendon or another club

If we get Jack Higgins, I will be pretty stoked. I am more excited about this pick up than Brad Crouch. Ratts and him have a similar nature, he will be a great mentor for Jack and potentially get the best out of him. He was likened to Toby Green in his draft year, you can see similarities in the way he plays. Strong, agile and has x factor, could potentially become a match winner and has great football IQ. He is just the likable version.

IMO once he feels confident, respected and he belongs at this level, he could become a gun of the competition. If you watch his interview pre draft year and other media videos. He speaks well, but soon as he got to afl level it seemed he got over whelmed, media focusing on him dropping out and his stuff ups when speaking, then it kinda just kept snowballing and building in his head. Not saying he is the most intelligent guy, but he is genuine, good natured and sounds like a great person to have at our football club. A life changing incident always helps you grow up, he said that he matured a fair bit after that incident.

Keen to see him running around in the Red, White & Black if he has chosen us.

I like players who know their limits. Play to their strengths.

This was a weakness of Lonie and it appears to be a strength of Higgins. Footy smarts is a very underrated asset. Higgins has it in spades apparently

Make of it what you will, don't @ me, us ITK's are here to just tell you what we have heard and start rumours on fictitious PM's.

I may or may not post my #Whispers anymore if you all keep piling on.

Just don't abuse the opposition supporters unless you do. And then we'll be happy. or sad. Or indifferent. Or hungry.

Good to hear. From the outside, Billings still looks to me like he lacks self belief and would be uncomfortable speaking to a crowd, but I guess impressions can be misleading...

Crouch’s manager needs to call the Crows bluff & state publicly that IF the Crows match the FA offer Crouch will stay at Adelaide.
Wouldn't they be better to say that he's just not interested in living in Adelaide or playing for the Crows… so if they match, in an attempt to restrict his movement he's going to the draft.

A more broad analysis of our trading recently, but I worry a bit about trading guys like Robo, Webster Dunstan etc to bring in guys from other guys. Bear in mind what I'm saying isn't related to the actual quality of the players. I remember a couple of years ago before Richmond won their first premiership and he was discussing his prediction and he said Richmond because they had the perfect ballance of home grown players and guys they got from other clubs. I remeber him also saying I think it could;ve been Essendon that they would struggle because they had brought in to many players. Essentially he was trying to make the point that if you bring in too many players from other clubs the team struggles to gain an identity.

I worry that by releasing a lot of the guys mentioned above that it breeds a level of job insecurity and will mess with the make up of the team

When looking at our team against the Tiges

Jonathon Marsh,[20] Dougal Howard,[33] Ben Paton
[1] Nick Coffield,[44] Callum Wilkie,[14] Jarryn Geary
[8] Bradley Hill,[6] Sebastian Ross,[10] Dan Hannebery
[16] Dan Butler,[28] Tim Membrey,[11] Hunter Clark
[13] Jack Lonie,[12] Max King,[26] Josh Battle
[19] Rowan Marshall,[3] Zak Jones,[9] Jack Steele
[5] Shane Savage,[15] Jack Billings,[25] Dean Kent,[35] Jack Sinclair

Thats not including Ryder who would;ve been in aswell. Now I get that the quality is much better but I do think at times we need to be more aware of what trading out certain guys will do.

Also I'm happy to basically exclude Membrey and Steele from the list as they have essentially begun their careers as saints players.

I honestly think Steele might have pipped him.

Especially at board level. They really like the idea of it being Steele. Feel commercially it lifts the profile etc

I know Ratten and the football leadership group really resonated with that idea aswell.
If the board, Ratts and the football leadership group all wanted Steele to become capitan, and they knew that Seb was the only potential candidate that might prevent that happening, what would that group of people do to ensure their desired outcome?

Elections are rigged prior to the ballot box...

It’s the darting eyes when he is interviewed on camera - though they have improved from how he was a few years ago.
