Now the interesting question.. if we've jumped to conclusions that Seb Ross was the midfielder "upset" with our trade activity - who else could it be?
Perhaps Dunstan or a depth player but geez it couldn't be one of the big dogs right?
Steele? Doubt it. Can’t see Hanners being upset either given he stay on the field without injury.
I hope Hill is upset, might motivate him to hit 2021 hard and be the player we need him to be

Think he is on a different nic nowdays, something about a flamingo or something :D :D
He still uses this one. Every time he opens his mouth and spins shit. I’m just going to remind everyone when he does.

Just like he came to me asking for info - but then had a crack at me for Rhys Mathieson. Yep I got it wrong. Glad he remembers that.

But I get a hell of a lot more right and he should pick his fights more wisely.

Hopefully Brad and Dan will co-ordinate their injuries so we have one available most weeks.

If richmond can bring in tom lynch on a mill a year AFTER winning a flag- anything is possible for a club that manages its cap well.

We will not have any issues bringing guys in that we want because of cap.

Not really comparable at all.

The Tiges would have been planning for Lynch all year, if not longer.

With Treloar it is an opportunity that has only just presented and we have already committed to Crouch.

But Brian said Ross wants to leave Glorious One

Next point - he said again Treloar is unlikely. My question for him and lethlean who yesterday said the same thing and ended with - we are interested observers.

What’s unlikely? Be categoric and say no we are not interested.

He literally gave away fu** all. He also said to clarify - we would have to make it work if Caldwell nominated us as the cap would be tight. But pretty much you could for good players.

So in essence, we could make a deal in our favour work for Treloar.
My take with Treloar is we are watching the situation and will step in IF the situation got to a point where he was very cheap and some of his money was taken care of, but that we aren't willing to step away from our strategic list plan just yet.

I was super impressed when he spoke about how we re making calculated, planed moves rather than just jumping for any free player out there. Gives me a lot of confidence on Gags building this list going forward.

Who in their right mind, with a premiership window, would not want Higgins, Tarrant & Treloar. Constable has not been given a chance at the Cats & Ronke not Lonie, could be the next Butler.
If there was a way to do it then sure. It was more a case of no that’s simply not feasible. Also Tarrant is a direct downgrade of Carlisle.
but there is absolutely no chance we get all of them in. Maybe one or two.

Yep, they are paying him 500k a year her the first 3 years.

Than about 1.2 for the remaining 4.

You can move those contracts around to make them fit. But I suppose if you don't get the success like Richmond than it can also come to bite you on the arse like it has for Collingwood.

Our draft hand isn't that flash at the moment
i think thats what we may work on improving ... i dont think realistically we would be bringing in anymore established players from here .. we will however look to improve our draft position if possible and potentially clear some $$ off the books

Maybe it was Ross. With his name being thrown around in the media, he would have had people asking him questions about his future or if he is being pushed out. He might have just sought some clarification from the club on whether he was still in their plans moving forward and has now settled any doubts that had crept in over the past few weeks about his place at the club.

Just completely guessing here.

If Higgins doesn’t get done, it would be nice to secure a 2nd rounder somehow this year with a couple of soldiers traded out, and go into next year without having traded any future picks.

We would still be in a strong position on field next year as well as having our cap under control, with options next trade/draft period.

Clubs are going to have a lot of players the have to dispose of due to reduced lists and teams with contracted players that are excess will be out the door in a fire sale , so I fully expect you will see some players you never expect will be on the outer and the players could force the issue in any attempt to get game time , North with there big list cull could well stock up on some very good bargains.
Even we have to remove 4 players from our list as of now to get to 38 players if that is the list size they say.
We also have to remember teams have to pick kids in the draft as well.
Guys like Savage , Parker , Marsh , Phillips , Alabakis could all be out the door due to list size and that is before we bring in any more players.
Teams like Geelong are going to have to let players like Narkle , Cockatoo , Constable and Rohan out the door for nothing.
Richmond will also need to move some players to list sizes and every team are going to hold out in a attempt to get a price for there players this why Higgins is out the door because he is excess and un-contracted.
I'm interested in what WCE and Fremantle have to let go.

Lonie I suspect is the domino that needs to fall before Higgins nominates us. For Treloar there is Dunstan, Webster, Robbo & D-Mac. Hind will get to the bombers but I hope he stays and we trial him as a HBF. Snake I'm confident will stay.

Unless things start moving, which I suspect will from Monday onwards this should be it for our trade period this year.

Looking at the draft picks Lonie could be out the door for pick 36 from the Dogs , which would be more than good enough for a good pick in the draft and knowing the Dogs will most probably get a few good draft picks from the Dunkley move it should be no problems to them.
Talking about the Dogs they have some players contracted on good money that are really not very good - Bruce should he was not worth the big contract he is on and he has 3 more years to run and they also have Schache still has 2 yrs to run - talk about a drain on the salary cap - they most probably do anything to get rid of these guys now, you can see why a player like Dunkley would be pissed when he these spuds are most probably on better money than what he is getting.
