Happy to see Western & Walker not in the top 25, as Twomey is usually spot on with what the clubs are doing due to his contacts. His analysis of players can be off, but if, late in the game, both boys are not listed in the top 25, that's certainly a win for us.

Agree with this. It’s a good thing. One thing to note - it’s really a top 23 as the GC get to take 2 of the players in his list and place the directly on their rookie list! Ridiculous I know. On a separate note - are Alex Davies and Joel Jeffrey not being punished here on a personal level too? A rookie contract for one year is not as good as a 2 year contract as a first round pick?

Yes, there may also be a concession to allow GC to pay them more than a regular contract - there is a rule already in place that excludes the rookie salary up to the value of a third round pick from the salary cap

I would’ve thought we’d consider him at our pick. Along with Reid, Cook, Chapman and Carroll.

I wish there was a champs because I want to watch him play. Feels like he should be rated higher given his attributes, combine and the fact he has done ok at WAFL level. Must be something significant putting teams off.

Either that or Twomey is just badly wrong.

I've only seen one game of his live and he didn't impress me but it was league and you could certainly see his athletic prowess, so I put it down to a bad day for him.

Is there any good footage of O'Driscoll? All I can find is 50 seconds from a Perth v South game and a piece from Ch 10 with his sister/mum, and it doesn't really show much.

He isn't bad with ratings, don't get me wrong & he is better than most, but some of his takes are just clearly wrong.
Keep an eye & ear out for what he says later.

To be fair to Twomey he was all over Serong last year from the very start, consistently having him and young at 3&4 on his rankings. That was while most people on this board didn’t want Serong at all.

Yes, I was going to post the same thing. He is only judged by the last draft and that is usually spot on for the top 15ish. He gets very good information from clubs.

He gets info from recruiters who most likely try to hold their cards to their chests.

I figure he does it by a process of elimination. Get enough "no"'s to the question "Will you take X at Y?" then you can infer the order. Would be a lot of work.

I really like him.

He spoken to certain recruiters for years and most likely can guess what they think.

Also, some recruiters will give up information that doesn't give way their possible players they wanted ie Collingwood recruiter might say what he thinks will be the top 5 or Gold Coast list manager might say he thinks will go at pick 10 etc

As it get closer to the draft, people will be feeding information.

The under 17's all star game. He played in that and was ok in the first half iirc
