Twomey still doesn't have either of our boys in the top 25.

I've also decided that I really like Cox... Don't even care if he doesn't work out as a forward.
I’ve already got him in purple. Seems like he’ll drop out to around there and seems like exactly the type we like / want

Always worthwhile to include their first initial when discussing players with the last name Cox I’ve found

There’s a touch of the Caleb Serong’s and Toby Greene’s about some of the highlights of Bailey Laurie!
Just watched his and Perkins highlights vids and came away alot more impressed with Laurie's. Laurie looked to really use the ball going forward where perkins was more raw pace and power and fair bit of chucking it on the boot. Laurie seems dynamic, attacking, clean and evasive - could be a Zac butters type? If we don't get a bid before our 2nd I wouldn't be unhappy with him at 32.

24. Melbourne - Isiah Winder
Height, Weight:
180cm, 79kg
Profile: An athletic utility, Winder tested strongly at the WA draft combine across the board. While super athletic with his speed and leap in particular exceptional, Winder combines this with strong hands overhead, one-touch ground level skills and excellent composure and placement of kicks out in front of inside 50m targets to lead onto.

Interesting

Laurie is a bit Boomer Harvey...he's very stable on his feet...

I think he’ll be gone by then. The Tigers in particular will be all over him. Among everything else, his vision and execution by hand is dynamic.

I have looked at this a couple of times and I cannot tell which side this kid kicks naturally kicks from.

He's a bit of a freak really. The fact he will get snapped in the AFL is neither here nor there.

Get it done, Wallsy.

gee that kid's got some serious disposal skills for a tall. Can see why he sees himself as a key defender. How's he compare to Neale?

If we end up with Cox I'll be ecstatic , His kicking with both feet is surgical like, exactly the player Freo needs. Has a long Highlights clip too.

Matt Balmer Fox

Bit surprised if he was there at our pick.

FREMANTLE

Draft picks:
12, 32, 55

Father-Son/Academy prospects: Brandon Walker, Chris Walker, Joel Western

The Dockers are tracking in the right direction after taking a big step forward in 2020. With a mightily impressive midfield mix of young guns Adam Cerra, Andrew Brayshaw and Caleb Serong, the future looks good post-Nat Fyfe. Brandon Walker will join the club as an academy prospect, which could wipe their second selection, but their first pick falls at a good spot. There should be a few talls and smalls available, with Victorian Archie Perkins one such player who could play a great role across half-forward and pinch-hitting in the middle. Perkins has flair and his leap means he can play as a leading player at 188cm. He has the power and speed to break out of a contest and knows where the goals are. A full season out of the Sandringham Dragons prospect might well have confirmed him as a top-10 selection.

After seeing the vision. I'm torn about what foot is his dominant. Set shots with both his left and right. Has a bit of extra swing on his left, looks like a peach though, especially for a big fella.

I think it has to be a real consideration depending on where we're gonna play him. He is too tall for mine to be a through and through winger, looks great as a general defender though - but is that a priority with Cox & Logue; I don' think so. He is more of a utility, but I don't think Freo need that necessarily. If he was a later pick than that'd be a different story. Archie Perkins, Eddie Ford, Jack Carroll type would be more beneficial I believe. Don't get me wrong, I won't be upset if we take this route. A winger with pure outside speed and endurance who has a bit of that versatility to pinch-hit in the mid would be my direction.

I think if we are going to invest in a 200cm player it should be a power forward like Neale not for our first pick but later in the draft.
Value wise that makes sense, but if Cox is there at our pick and we pass, we may also miss out on Neale later. For list balance, adding Carroll/Cook/Ford/Perkins plus Neale would be great.

I'd also live happily with both Cox and Neale given their mobility

BF: We need players who kick well on both sides!
Recruiters: Here’s one, he’s also able to play forward, back, wing too
BF: Nnnooooooo!!!!! He wants to be a back man and we have heaps.
🤦🏻‍♂️

a 200cm dude who can run like that with those disposal skills isn’t attractive?
Tough room
