yep, that is definitely what happened - back in the real world, it would be a reasonable idea to mix these selectors up every few years - max of 3 years I think

yacob had his pants pulled down 2 or 3 times toward the end of the year. likely a few reasons for that like lack of liam, and our increasing poorness, but can see why it might have spooked the selectors.

Weiters should feel stiff not to make the team, but it's hardly the howler some are making it out to be.
Very hard spot to break into on the AA team. You could make arguments why he's ahead of others that were named, but then those others would be very stiff if they got dropped in favour Weiters.
We should be rapt to have 3 named in the squad, and if everyone returns healthy next year, we have 5 x AA calibre players and the excuses for poor performances will have to stop.

Well done to Harry and Walsh for making the team, and well done to Weiters for making the squad.

Aliir is a good player...but CHB in the AA? Give me a break. The bloke has hardly had a direct opponent all year.

Stringer another who was stiff to miss out. If it's a form based decision, not sure how you could leave him out despite how unreliable he's been in the past.

Weiters would likely have been in had we not already had Walsh and McKay put forward undeniable seasons.

3 AA's for the 13th side? is the argument they would have gone with.

Will sting Weiters, however I can't wait to see how good he is when we have a better team defense and he's got more time to setup intercepts/spoils next year.

Weitering was not robbed. It doesn't matter how good a job you do, you cannot be part of a defensive unit that concedes the 2nd highest score against and be considered "robbed" an AA selection. Unfortunately this is a case where the way the team played went against the individual.

Weitering is of course good enough to be AA and I am looking forward to when he does become AA and becomes a reoccuring selection.

I look at the players named ahead of him and you cannot argue against any of them. No surprise they all play for top 5 teams and the other unlucky player to miss out (Harris Andrews

AA team skews towards better teams. I might be wrong, but isn’t everyone player on field aside from our two boys from a finals side? Two on the field is good. Three would have been rude.

Head to head - just my opinion - Weitering has every tall in that defence covered as an individual on 2021 form. But there’s 18 teams out there. The AA side is always pretty bloody good.
