Could we be cheeky and snowball our pick to fill our hand for next year?
Hawks offer 23 and future 2nd.
Then we trade 23 for hypothetical pick 30 and future 2nd.
Then we just pick up a Clark, Motlop, Dittmar, Bazzo around 30?
We’d have effectively given up rights for Johnson, Goater, Draper, Sonsie type for 2 x 2nd rounders and one of the type of players mentioned.
We held pick 19 for a reason. I won’t mind Johnson or Goater but we have no hand next year and pick 19 unlocks this opportunity 100%.

Had the strangest dream last night. We were able to draft exactly what we wanted. WA boys including a KPF. And the most bizarre part...everyone was happy.

I said if we get two of Amiss, Erasmus and Johnson i would be stoked. His response "it'd be great if we got all three"...........

Had a bit of a think about this last night and with Lobb still being contracted for 2023 we could probably extract enough out of a trade to get back into next year’s second and third rounds. A lot will ride on the development of Meek and Benning.
I really think we need to use our pick(s) 21 tonight one way or another and just make this an all-time draft haul*

I think the only way we trade pick 21 is if we get
- a future 1st
- 2 picks this year in the 20s (Hawks Richmond etc)
completely fine with either Johnson or Goater at 21.

I think there's probably 3 real trade options?
- trade for a future first round pick
- trade for an early second this year and a future second
- trade for two second round picks this year
I would probably just keep the pick, take either Johnson or Goater. Whichever we rated higher. I wouldn't be opposed to trading down for two mid second rounders this year, no guarantee Johnson would be available but there'd be some decent options still.

I’d love the Eagles first and then watch them crumble to finish bottom 4. They could have Johnson for that payment!
Oh and I’d still take their pick 30 this year and grab that slider!

Listening to the interviews with Amiss & Erasmus just now and they've both talked up how they're really happy to be playing together next year. Adding Johnson to the pair will only strengthen that bond I reckon.

Hawks trading both their picks in the 20s for pick 21 seems a irresponsible on their part to me.
I reckon they'd at least want to split pick 25 for two later picks. I'd do the trade for pick 23 and a pick in the late 30s or early 40s

If it's possible to make Derbys more intense, imagine having the weagles future first in our grip and the Derbys next year

If we were to do a deal like that i think we'd be chasing Motlop with the second pick.
Won't happen (won't even be within 5 picks) but imagine if they traded us pick one. They wouldn't live it down until that player retired.
In all seriousness there's a significant chance it'd be a top ten pick. Can't see the trade happening.
