Matt Johnson, ignoring that he is a very good user of the ball...

Ranked #3 in agility
Ranked #7 in vertical leap
Ranked #7 in running vertical leap
6:39 2km time

He has potential to become very big and strong too which will improve his contested game, which is a downside... but if you're his coach do you want him in tight handballing or further outside to use his kicking? Of course you want him kicking.

Agility is elite but not burst player.

Builds a tank and gets uncontested marks around the ground. Then uses his freaken laser guns to hit players inside 50.

So Mundy then?

How about a different live trade:

Freo: Pick 48
St Kilda: Picks 53 and 61

Gives St Kilda a few more points for their academy kids. Freo moves up the order for the price of a pick we’re not going to use. If we take a fifth selection it’s Eric Benning, otherwise we’ll take a pick in the rookie draft.

100% in the use Pick 21 basket now.

When considering what to do, do we draft for needs, but downgrading and get 2 additional picks this year or go best available - that being between who the consensus think to be either:
- Johnson
- Goatboat
- Butler

????????????

Don't we need a place holder pick for Benning until the draft is over?

I still find it bizarre how we managed to get hold of pick 19 (21).

As part of the deal the SUNS will send Will Brodie, pick 19, pick 61 & pick 69 from the 2021 NAB AFL Draft in exchange for a 2022 2nd Round and 2022 4th Round Selection.

Yes if we for example took 2 players in the second round, and benning was bid on at pick 50 we couldn’t match him as our list spots would technically be full.

Come to us with an offer hawks.
Johnson, Goater, Sonsie, butler and Knevitt.
I want two of them
Could you imagine if we grab Johnson and Butler/Motlop, pick up Benning and all of a sudden our list balances looks pretty spot on. Screw next year’s draft, if we are serious about winning a flag in 5 years just get the elite talent available in now to get the development into them and draft for needs with whatever we have next year.

If we had #6, #8, #19 and the two picks in the 60s then we can take five players this draft.

So I'd be aiming at Johnson at #21, then holding out for a Benning bid or picking Jai Serong when our next pick comes up

We have 5 spots available on our list. We might use one for a rookie but we don't have to. Technically we have 7 spots because we delisted Crowden & Blakely but promised to rookie list them.

Fremantle made all the right choices...this is unfamiliar territory

We have four spots left on our senior list currently after selecting Amiss and Erasmus.

I reality it’s three as we’ve promised Blakely and Crowden rookie spots but both players are technically off our list until Friday.

If we trade two picks for one we’ll be allocated the last pick in the draft by the AFL. Besides on the final draft order we had a pick in the 80s - no one care about it because we won’t use but it exists.
