What same old thing?
We have won one game in 10 weeks
Your comment makes zero sense
Facts are clubs don't tank, or play for draft picks.... it just doesn't happen
If round 23 scenario was loser takes the spoon ill guarantee both us and North will be going hard to win the game
So pedalling out doing the same thing, we are doing what all clubs do, trying to win and develop the same time
NO clubs, NO clubs play for picks.... its just not what happens
We will finish where we will finish, North, Hawthorn and Collingwood will all have the same philosophy and commitment

Number 1 draft picks back to 2005
Tom Boyd the only flag winner ( and near Norm Smith performance)
But what you do see are multiple B&F winners and AA squad/sides
Ignore Rising Star as that seems to be an award given before the season and adjusted for injuries etc
Boyd and McCartin retired due to outside issues - rather than talent and Watts struggled with the pressure , escaped to SA and loved swimming and **** ie football stopped being his focus

tl;dr number 1 doesnt guarantee success but the player you pick is a good player in good systems
So, what facts still remain from 90’s admin culture to now.So 11 mins later my post suddenly made sense…
The idea that teams don’t prioritise long term goals over short term results is one of the dumbest things you’ve ever claimed
ALL clubs do it. The bad ones pick n choose inconsistently
Just like you want us to
Really?, with the emphasis Nicks puts on contested ball that surprises me a little, on my limited viewing that's an area of Callaghan's all round game I feel needs more work.
It was damn good. btw rankine told me he'd come back home if nicks was sacked.Brett Cummings was the wine faith gave you good? Hope you enjoyed it up on the GC

I'm trying to work out when Nicksy saw him play live because Callaghan's best 4 games of the 6 he's played this season were on weekends when Adelaide was playing home or in Tassie...the other 2 games he didn't do a lot to catch the eye? When has The Sloane Ranger ever been right on that sort of thing?
Mountain of salt needed

Thank you for the credit. See, it is not hard to be nice to people is it?BronCrow has uncovered that Roo is micromanaging Nicks telepathically, so maybe Roo is the one to look at!![]()
Confused why you haha’d this Sanders ? Literally just giving my opinion on CallaghanGreat. Classy in traffic, has size, has that ‘time and space’ in traffic that the rest of our mids seem to lack
Great prospect. That said, I don’t think we can go wrong with a few guys
Most of the 2019 draft class for 1.So what WA players named there should we have taken that were still available at the pick we took our player at?
And what ones turned out better than our pick given you have the advantage of hindsight.
Smart player with good skillsWhat’s his main traits ?
There will never. Ever. Be a quirk of AFL rules that falls to the favour the Adelaide Football Club. Heck, I’d settle for not getting ****ed over by the league at any given opportunity.Anyone familiar with the AFL competition rules?
Is there an indiscretion we could commit where the sole penalty is losing 4 points?
Nothing where we could lose draft picks.
What's the penalty for 19 players on the field?
If the Pies finish bottom this year then GWS will have Pick 1.So is there any (worthwhile) discussion as to the “depth” of next year’s draft? If the views are mixed, and assuming Pies finish bottom (which you would have to say is a strong chance) do we swap say pick 3 and next years first for pick 1? They still get Daicos, and get the points they need for next year…everyone wins..
Collingwood could have bided on Darcy at 1.If the Pies finish bottom this year then GWS will have Pick 1.
The irony would be if GWS bid on Nick Daicos at Pick 1, it will cost the Pies plenty of draft points to match. If the Pies hadn’t traded their 2021 1st with GWS and finished last then they could have gone Pick 1. Jason Horne then matched a bid at say Pick 2 for Daicos for less draft points.
Perhaps it just be a case of trying to bring J Horne home from GWS for big bucks after 2 years …. A bit liked we hoped for RANKINE/Lucosius
I don't think that many take young Chris Doerre's predictions that seriously anymore. He doesn't watch an enormous number of games and doesn't have any access to other expert and industry opinions.
He's a guy with a webpage who watches some games.
I'd lean more into Draft Central rankings - because they have a bigger team of analysts - or Twomey because he speaks to recruiters.
Something like we want English, but bid on Perryman 1st and take GallucciYou take the player on top of your list then move down once they get picked.
Roberts may be 4,7 or even 11 'according to the experts' but if he is number 2 on our list we will grab him where our pick falls
