Yeah.. care to name the fitness “guru’s” that have been there in the past three years instructing these new players.. their first fitness coaches at AFL level..
I Didn't say anything about a fitness guru mate.. I said his fitness shouldn't be an excuse.
Wouldn't matter if he could run up and down Everest..
Soft is soft, he was exposed in the showdown and has been hiding under his blanket since.

Sounds like there's not a huge hunger by Port .....in fact if I were Dawson, I'd be questioning why I'd consider Port

Port Adelaide has confirmed its interest in want-away Swan Jordan Dawson, as pressure continues to grow on head coach Ken Hinkley.

The Power and the Adelaide Crows are now expected to battle for his signature.

Port Adelaide's head of football Chris Davies today said the club would always consider players that wanted to return home to SA.

"Any South Australian player that's looking to come home we have a responsibility to do our due diligence on," he said.

I think he's the type of player who's obviously had a fantastic year, we had some real interest in him in his draft year.

 putting 1 + 1 together I'd say the Dawson to Crows vote is gathering momentum

More "firm" discussions about other players Port are chasing

Jeremy Finlayson is exploring a shock trade to Port Adelaide despite having two years to run on his AFL contract with the GWS Giants, 7NEWS.com.au understands.

The 25-year-old forward has already undergone a medical with the South Australian club as he scopes out his options while in Adelaide for the off-season.

GWS sources have confirmed they are aware of the talks, which have emerged after Finlayson’s partner Kellie - who is from SA - gave birth to their first child last month.

Finlayson skipped the end of the Giants’ season, spent in a Victorian hub, to stay with Kellie in Queensland before the couple relocated to Adelaide.

Finlayson only re-signed with GWS on a three-year deal late last year and could still decide to remain with the club.

Honestly, Port need a KPF and an inside mid more than they need Dawson, which is good news for us. I don't rate Jeremy particularly highly, but Finlayson and someone like Mitchell would make way more sense with where they are at.
Finlayson is a flexible DEF / FWD ....can play him either end, he's more the 3rd tall / fwd though, than KPP

Has great stretch's of games, but then disappears and finds himself back in state league ....needs consistency

My opinion now is the Dawson to Crows is almost a fait accompli

Signed a 3 year deal late last year, but then less than 12m later to seek a trade elsewhere?

Interesting.

Two firsts for a player with 2 years to go is the going rate.

Another family call .....don't couples discuss location prior to having a baby ....signs a Contract and then starts a family 🤨

That's what I read on one of the AFL news sites....About a 7 hour drive the last time I headed to Lincoln from Adelaide on our way to Fowler's Bay/Mexican Hat Beach/Dog fence beach chasing the mighty mulloway..

Port Adelaide has “extreme interest” in wantaway Swan Jordan Dawson and is also eyeing GWS forward Jeremy Finlayson, whose partner is from South Australia.
Robe-raised Dawson finished third in Sydney’s best and fairest this season and requested a trade home to SA on Friday, but was yet to nominate either the Power or Adelaide.

The 24-year-old half-back/wingman has played 64 games for the Swans since being drafted from Sturt with pick 56 in 2015.

Finlayson is contracted at the Giants until the end of 2023 but he and his partner Kellie are understood to be considering a move to Adelaide for family reasons after having their first baby last month.

Kellie’s family is from Port Lincoln.

Finlayson, 25, remained in Queensland with Kellie for the pregnancy and did not travel with the Giants late in the season or play in either of its finals.

Port Adelaide football manager Chris Davies said the club did not typically start negotiations with players until it knew they wanted to come to the club.

Davies said Dawson had a fantastic year and the Power believed he could complement an area of the ground it needed to address.

“He’s certainly a player we’ve got extreme interest in,” Davies said.

Gee - you went the long way if you went through Lincoln on your way to the Far West! We are 6.5 hrs from Adelaide and I am sure we can get one of the local fishing families to pay Jezza to play for the mighty Wayback Demons if he wants to be really close to the in-laws. We could use him this weekend against the sheep shaggers in the Grand Final!

I could have bought a bag load of Mulloway for Mutineer ...for what that roadtrip cost

Back on topic ....if Port have to use their 1st round pick to get Finlayson ....and then shell out for Burgoyne ..where do the chips come from for Dawson
After all Port need to replenish their midfield, to replace Boak, and Gray ......can't see Port in the Dawson race now

Sounds like us pretending we were into Orazio for the cameras last year

I get what you are saying, however, using his 2nd half of the season, Sholl is no certainty to make the grade long term. Seedsman has 1-2 seasons left. The options outside of this are pretty limited - Milera? Hamill?
Cook looks likely, but plays a bit taller and isn't a normal fast outside winger. Our midfielders are primarily inside ball winners - Sloane, Crouch, Laird, Keays, Berry, Pedlar, Hately, so an outside skilled player isn't the worst option.
It’s a good option but all depends on what pick you take him at . For me he’s not a top 25 pick
