If it's just fans telling them it's not effin good enough, fair play.

Yeah spitting, tipping drinks and drunken heavy abuse should not happen either.

Absolutely, but her post specifically addressed booing the players off. Now me personally, I would never boo my own team, but if someone who pays a membership or buys a ticket and finances the club in that way wants to boo the team for a piss poor performance then that’s their right.

WTF, we have fore flags, a successful AFLW program, more members, less debt and our bills are not paid by the AFL

Jonas, we exist to win Flags

WTF, all clubs exist to win premierships however unless you have a history of winning big games in Sept you don't pedal that narrative, you need to earn the right to speak that narrative..

One AFL flag in 23 years isn't a club that has demonstrated that it lives for premierships, not to mention what's your recent sanfl premiership record like?

Depends, I cheered them off a few times last year because I felt they were a young side who had been thrown to the wolves through no fault of their own and we’re having a red hot crack. They looked visibly dejected a lot of the time and they deserved to know that the supporters were behind them. It’s why, as much as it was a little bit cringey, I loved the “we believe in you” sign the cheer squad made.

"We exist to win premierships" is the extinct Port Adelaide Magpie mantra, they are using this so they can link the Port Power AFL side to them and somehow in their head inherit their success in the SANFL which is an amateur league and bring that to the best football league in Australia.

I heard Voss this morning and I got the same impression.

I think there were hints for them in the first quarter against Geelong, Carlton and round 23 v the Bulldogs. In those games they could of been kicked out of the game but the other teams couldn't sustain it.

And before Carlton there was us. They just got out of jail against us, played the Carlton Reserves the next week (how many of their best 22 were missing), just got over the line against Bullies, and then played their bunnies in Geelong in another final.

Heard a supporter say the Power boys had to put up with being at home with crying babies, wives etc! I kid you not that they get to sleep in their own beds and with their family and somehow that is a negative.

Seriously, how deluded are some of these supporters? What alternative universe are they in?

Agree, it was just their normal performance against a top 4 team in the last 2 seasons* when they finished H&A* 1st and 2nd but in the playing group (especially the young players) they choked which is excellent for us.

Yes in 1998 and 1999 but nothing this century.

Now every time we have a choke in finals, we seem to have Port go one better.

Port people, the real hardcore ones, absolutely thrive on the whole "us vs the world" atmosphere they've manufactured for themselves. They build their whole identity on somehow being different, better, more than other clubs are. The creed, 1870, exist to win premierships, NTUA, all that stuff to them isn't just a bunch of fluff that has been appropriated for marketing purposes and had whatever little bit of soul they possessed sucked out of them. It's evidence that they're better than everyone else.

And they can't even comprehend a mindset that doesn't feel that way. Of course everyone else wants to be like them, and any insistence to the contrary must be jealousy of their superior heritage.

Ken's winning % is better than any Port coach, this year was their best winning % since 2004.

It's amazing how they "just don't turn up" so often playing when playing the top sides who, funnily enough, don't let you play your best! It's almost like they're just not as good as they think they are!

It's amazing how they "just don't turn up" so often playing when playing the top sides who, funnily enough, don't let you play your best! It's almost like they're just not as good as they think they are!
