FAQs & Resources Thread

It has an index at the top with threadmarks so it's easy to find what you're looking for – or easier than scrolling through 250 pages of AFL Rules, Regulations and CBA pdfs anyway.

These sorts of questions are all answered along with a bunch of other resources made by posters from across BigFooty (feel free to add to it!):

The stars-in-waiting that we have in Bruhn & Stone with the option of playing someone like Perryman or Callum Brown forward probably gives us the option to take a DFA such as Gibbons or JT to act as backup, although I already wanted to draft a small forward so even more so now would want to aim for a quality draftee to develop.

Gibbons was GWS Academy from Lavington, at the same time as Zac Williams & Joe Redfern. I'd be OK with bringing him in on a lifeline.
Gibbons is easily afl level

He should stay in the system. I would absolutely take him

At his best he’s a good player but he does still fade in and out of games.

Spot on description of Hill.

He's not consistent, which is one of our playing group's biggest problems.

And if he wants out, it's a no-brainer to move him on.

What do you guys think of Lobb coming back?
What sort of pick would be involved?
Lobb and 19 for 13?
Also it is a shame about Toby.
I think 4 weeks would be long enough, 6 is excessive.

I think there's a split as to whether we think he's worth it or not. Personally, I don't think he's a solution to either our KPF or second ruck issues - I'd prefer to give Riccardi and Flynn and Briggs the opportunity; especially as Lobb is 29 and hence has only a limited career left, plus is often injured.

I certainly wouldn't involve any of our first round picks for him - definitely not worth impacting those. When he went to Freo, it was essentially a late first rounder with 2 x third round picks coming back - the value being an early third rounder. Three years and lots of injuries later, and with really limited career left, he's not more than a third rounder for mine. If that doesn't satisfy Peter Bell, well then I wouldn't do the trade. He's not a huge need, we shouldn't have promised him anything - this seems more a Colin Young salary maximisation gambit.

Apparently Bombers are favourites at this point.

FMD. Having to deal with that ******* Dodo and his perpetual undervaluing of opposition players. fu**. Hopefully Bobby rejects him and goes to a more compliant club.
He has no power in this one though. They aren’t at the bottom, Hill is still contracted. So much better than the Caldwell situation.

I agree, but he'd still make it painful. He'd play on the compassionate grounds and tell us we'd need to take less than he's worth to get him to Melbourne. Hopefully Bobby or his management ask what they're prepared to pay the Giants for him and use that info accordingly. Just can't see Bobby wants to screw us over.

Giants are a person first club mate. I'm sure they won't stand in his way on compassionate grounds.

So you think if he plays for Essendon or North Melbourne there is a difference to his personal situation? Give me a break.

He has a young pregnant partner and wants support. His best mate has left the club and his cousin is in Melbourne. If he was out of contract we would be cast but he’s under contract and has competition for his services. We will take the best deal that suits us.
