Key Off-Season Dates
This is a comprehensive list including dates for draft combines, list lodgements, delisted free agency windows and return to train dates. I had to collate these from three different club websites because the AFL is lazy af and doesn't have it on their website, so thought it might be helpful to share:

FAQs & Resources Thread

It has an index at the top with threadmarks so it's easy to find what you're looking for – or easier than scrolling through 250 pages of AFL Rules, Regulations and CBA pdfs anyway.

These sorts of questions are all answered along with a bunch of other resources made by posters from across BigFooty (feel free to add to it!):

After the game Friday, my urge to have Riccardi as a reasonably high priority has changed.
He seemed way off it in Friday, in fact every time he got near it, it broke down.
Based on what we saw last year I thought he was going to be a very good player for a long time.
Based on Friday I can see why they haven't picked him this year.
It's only 1 game I know, so hopefully we see the best of him again.

I think they’ll try hard to keep him. Bigger guys generally take longer to develop. Those few games last year were incredible and show he’s worth persevering with, despite his current lack of confidence.
Won’t be a #1 tall forward, but can be a strong 2/3.
Then again if the Pies stump up silly dough he’ll walk.

I'm sure we'd want to keep him, as I agree it will take some development time.

The problem, as always, is if a Victorian kid isn't instantly in the 22 each week, they'll look for opportunity nearer to home. Collinwood would be problematic as they have reduced draft/trade capital, but I'm sure something could be worked out. Tigers another who could do with him, and have more trade capital.

If he wants to go we will be lucky to get a 4th round selection for him

trade capital isn’t a factor

Well that was an enjoyable read.

Seems a few North fans need a dictionary to look up the meaning of some words, loyalty and traitor being a couple.
So, I'm guessing the Norf thread has turned from ''welcome our fabulous, talented prodigal son'' to ''never wanted him - the overpaid, over-hyped piece of dog dropping''?

I can understand that. It happens when you feel entitled to something and it doesn't eventuate.

The few wishing him physical harm are scum though.

I don’t want to merely sound negative as he is an outstanding player but this is a really naive and ignorant deal. He is 27 next year meaning he will be with us until he’s 35 and is taking a mill a year.

I just think this could go horribly wrong and was not necessary.

Look at the Coniglio deal now…players need to want to stay here not be bribed to do so.

It’s interesting the AFL don’t let clubs do future draft picks beyond a year so as to protect clubs from themselves but at the same time allow them to do these ridiculous tenure deals which can completely stuff up salary caps.

Happy he’s staying but very worried about this deal.

Well done guys.

Would have liked for him to have landed at North with his father's history (we have been dead stiff with Sticks Brayshaw and Phil Kelly both missing the 100 game mark).

Good get to keep him.

Would really be interesting the contract details ie what he's getting vs what we offered but we'll likely never know.

I hear you.
We are a better team with him and I'm very pleased he's staying.
End of the day, the market determines player worth. I assume that losing Jezza opened up some cap space.

In 8 years the cap will be vastly different and it won’t look the same

you say bribed…. I say paid

think about it in terms ofwhere the list is at…. We have that core group around the 26-28 years old mark… we need to perform while they are at the top

eventually the tobys and the whitfields won’t be there and we will
Bottom out…. But right now we need to keep players like kelly to remain competitive with the top tier

I’m ok with the deal.

We have plenty of cap room, making a ton of space last year, and he is quality.

The cap will increase over the years, and let’s be honest the media love the word “million” but they also use it for those on anything as low as 800k, so
Wouldn’t be too concerned
