End is sh*t, we had to let Ralph go on Monday. 1 week earlier on his birthday he was as good as you'd expect for a bulldog turning 13. 3 days later we were at the vet getting sh*t news and walking out with a bunch of Hail Mary drugs.
Really sorry to hear as I know how much you loved Ralph. Even worse when it happens unexpectedly. House isn't the same once they are gone.

Take care.

Will be in Australia.

Mind you this year is ending ok... the other night a good mate who posts here brought over a 1990 Wynn's John Riddock to go with a 2005 Liebich Old Vine Shiraz & Webber cooked aged rib eyes over 600 grams each.

Very enjoyable.
The late Mick Liebich of Rovalley Wines (Rowland Flat) wine fame was a good friend of the family back in the day, was actually on a committee (not wine related) with Mick for over a decade as we shared a similar interest in greyhound racing. Got to sample some of the Liebich family's own special Port Wine blends at those committee meetings...a pretty special drop. Did love a punt on the doggies and owned some pretty good hounds over the year's trained for him by the state's leading greyhound trainer at the time Doug Payne.

I remember Mick telling us all their wines were aged in Oak Vats his father Benno had made in the 1920's.

THIS. One of the all time great players, and an even better person. Not very often you can say that.

One thing I respect about Russell was that any time I heard him discuss footy he always just viewed the Crows as another team.

He is all just about Port and to me never seemed to have a chip on his shoulder about the Crows unlike Choco, Rucci and Kane.

Brought a tear to my eyes, love to see a man's love for his dog.
Was 16 years for me this year, hand fed him till the end, it's crushing.

Feel for you 1970, they are tough days.

Have my 2 dog food bowls polished up in the man cave with my other nick knacks.

Sorry to hear mate.
One of life’s worst feelings.

We had a stray cat sort of living in our backyard for a couple of years. Nicest cat I've ever met. He genuinely seemed to love the company of humans. He stopped coming around one day and we hadn't seen him for 2 weeks when one of the neighbours called us to say they found him dead behind the shed in their backyard. I still haven't gotten over the loss and I don't think I ever will.

Yeah losing pets absolutely suck.
I cannot fathom what it’s like to lose a child.

I was both lucky and cursed. We got to spend 4 straight days in bed together. I got up with him every time he wanted to go outside. Being so quick was a terrible shock, but I’m happy we had those last few days totally together.

We have our battles mate, but we share the love for our dogs.

Hope you are coping alright.

Sad news to hear.

When my mother in law was battling cancer he visited her a few times. She was a Port volunteer and he knew her well. A great guy.

Cancer takes all the good people.

Well this has been a weird year and I know I’ve ruffled a few feathers but I still consider us all friends even though we disagree at times.
Happy new year to all you guys and girls.
Boom Shankar Shalom. 🥳

Cancel the NYE fireworks (pre-COVID decision) to make a few Twitter knobs happy, then wonder why so many illegal ones are being let off.

We're run by morons.
I had to head inside to the toilet as a few were let off overhead as I sat there contemplating the world and listening to the ones at Christies or Souths
