Horrific effort. Everyone at that Collingwood press conference should be sacked immediately.

Calling it a proud day for the club is embarrassing for the supporters and completely ridiculous

I'm waiting for Scott Burns to be suspended because he was a Collingwood captain.

It's funny how Collingwoods dirty laundry is being aired and it's all white sheets...
Clever...

This can be taken a few different ways.

I truly believe culture is something that is set from the top of an organization and flows downwards.

The fish rots from the head and all that.

Basically everyone in the media knows Eddie and say he's a good guy so they don't want to bag him. No one is willing to say a bad word about him. Apart from Heretier anyone else?

Russell Jackson / ABC has gone to town...

"Mostly, it will be remembered as the day a flustered and red-faced McGuire powered through a Giulianiesque monologue of deflections, denials and delusion. Four Seasons Total Mansplaining.

Asked to reply to claims in the report that the club's offending was "distinct and egregious", McGuire said: "We don't want to get into semantics." At one point, he started listing the ethnicities of Collingwood staff at random.

"Sometimes you just don't get it until you get it," McGuire said, sounding a lot like someone who didn't get it at all.

It is hard to summarise the whole 45 minutes with a straight face. Take the following 10-second sequence of Trumpian bullet points as an example: "We hear a lot of talk in this space. We're doing something. We called things out six years ago — in fact, 22 years ago, when we started on this campaign. We led the way on so many of these things and continue to do so. Yes … there were mishaps along the journey, as there have been in all walks of life and in all organisations."

In fact, it was Lumumba who called it out six years ago, and who continues to call it out. And 22 years ago? What happened in 1999? Was McGuire referring to the beginning of his presidency? Did he mean 1995, when Michael Long was abused? Or 1993, when Gilbert McAdam and Nicky Winmar were abused? "Led the way" for what?

When a reporter pointed out the offence most victims would take at their abuse being referred to as a "mishap", McGuire petulantly snapped: "Sorry, I haven't brought my thesaurus with me."

Collingwood racism report findings a vindication for Héritier Lumumba and others who paid price for speaking up

If anyone had half a brain at Collingwood, they would have rolled out the CEO or anyone else but Eddie to talk about racism, given his track record.

This was the biggest self-inflicted afl club trainwreck since Burton & Pyke tried to explain our preseason camp.

If Eddie cares about his club, he would stand down immediately.

Eddie has clearly got too big for his boots, he’s been able to bluster his way through many controversies, but this is one topic you can’t.

He will get the chop and this is how he will be remembered. He should have gone when he announced his resignation and not fronted yesterday.

Eddie has always said that he is there to serve the club and that it is bigger than a single individual. He just proved yesterday that he actually thinks the opposite. 100% agree - that was a Burton-like performance.

If you have seen the Adam Goodes movie and seen the section on Eddie's comments, you will know that he is 100% the racist he appears to be.

I will be happy to see that absolute flog of a human gone.

Tom Scully has retired.

I do take some joy out of Hawthorns failure with the recruiting of former #1 players
I'm not sure how much longer Patton will be at the club either

I get the feeling that the Hawks and Pies will implode this year with all the off season news, similar to our 2018 season

Not sure he burned GWS, played well, got an impact injury then was dumped for salary cap reasons.

Was the highest paid player in the comp for a while. Good player but worth nowhere near what they were paying.
